Deleted19113639User
Currenlty making a weather mod, but run into a problem -- no weather use MIDNIGHT values, only NIGHT one. But in TTW there midnight is actually in use, how can i adress it?
dubiousintent
No experience with this, but according to the GECKWiki page on Weather there is a "midnight" time setting on the "General" tab. The "JIP LN NVSE plugin" adds the function "SetWeatherTransitionTimeOverride". Between them one would think you were covered. So perhaps you could explain what you are trying to accomplish and why it doesn't seem to be working in a little more detail? As it is I'm not clear if this is a "time" issue or one with the "weather" function itself. -Dubious-
Deleted19113639User
So, there is a transition between different day times, from sunrise to day to highnoon to day again to sunset to night to midnight, but the midnight never actually shows up, its just goes sunset > night > sunrise, without using midnight colors, thus im unable to make a pretty transistion
dubiousintent
So, the problem lies in the apparent transitions (or lack thereof) of colors across the midnight timeframe. How is your weather different between "night" and "midnight"? Are you using both "colors" and "imagespace modifier (IMOD)" settings? Have you tested using just one or the other as well as the combination? (I realize you probably have, but covering the bases in gathering data. Often having to explain details to others brings out something you knew but forgot or overlooked.) Are you seeing any other transitions such as rain, clouds, stars, or fog across that time window that indicate they are actually changing? Have you tried using a wildly contrasting, highly visible color at midnight just to confirm it is ignoring your transition? Have you defined your weather type in the "Climate" window? Sorry, but I'm off to bed now. Hopefully someone else will be able to pick this up and help. I will check on your progress when I get up. -Dubious-
Deleted19113639User
Edit i made is to vanilla weather NVWastelandClear, to test it i simply changed all colors (really, all of them) to bright red, and nothing at midnight changes to bright red. Yes, i tested with and without changes to imagespace modifiers, midnight doesnt appear. Nor in game, nor in GECK itself =\
Deleted19113639User
UPDATEHuh, what is this bs. Apperently, its kinda vanilla bug, wich were fixed in vanilla climate with a script. Script run is background and checks, what time is it. If its past 21.00 and before 04.30 it sets global VNight to 1, wich in turn activate NVWastelandClearNight, that has darker lighting then standart NVWastelandClear, but BUT, those it never appears ingame because Volatility for NVDefaultClimate is set to 0, thus this weather is never seen in game. And if you change Volatility, both weathers change each other every now and then, wich doesnt make sense. So, i added new Global VDay, that through the same script disables NVWastelandClear, allowing for smooth as butter transition from Sunset to Evening to Nigh, and it is beatiful. Still wanna know how to do this without hacks and scripts, maybe JIP plugin could fix it? Would be awesome. dubiousintent
Good work. Having done the investigation to identify the cause of the problem (along with a potential solution) greatly increases the probability that Jazzisparis will consider it. (And I see that you have asked in that thread. Good luck with it) -Dubious-
