Nina28209
Hey guys. So im fairly new to Blender and modding myself. Im trying to get a few plant and tree models i made and/or bought into the game which i wanted to use to replace vanilla trees and plants. Normally I import the models into Outfit Studio load a reference to scale my model to the correct size, delete the rererence and then export my model as nif, load it into nifskope to assign the textures and NiALpha if needed. For some models it works but for my trees it doesnt at all even though i keep the same texture and model name. But the models never show up in game. Hope somebody can help. Deleted49413338User
using the Outfit studio method should work, but be sure to delete the skin instance data it adds. Find a vanilla nif from the game that is a static object and, If you don't mind your trees not moving in the wind, copy all the flags from the static item (something like a Supermutant totem pole) into your tree nif. If you tree has been Alpha Painted and designed to move in game the copy the flags from another tree nif. If you purchase the trees or they are from other free 3D sources, chances are they wont be designed to work with weather in fallout 4 and will need to remain as a static non moving item. I noticed while messing with some flags in nifskope on trees that unchecking certain flags will turn the tree invisible. There are also records that will need to be created in an esp if the tree is designed to move in the wind like the vanilla trees. I think it is leaf amptitude setting.. I don't know much about the trees tbh. One person that knows is this guy. try msg him, he is pretty helpful https://www.nexusmods.com/users/3716295
