Lighting Glitch

Hey guys, after many years of playing skyrim, I have decided to mod it a little bit. I am having this light glitch, you could probably say. However, I can deduce that it is not a light glitch because I turned off RLO (my only lighting mod) and it did not fix the problem. The flickering only happens in 3rd person.

I tried to upload a photo of what it looks like, but the folder is too big. If there is another way to upload, let me know I am still pretty new lol.

Its usually a line of darker area than the rest of the screen above my character's head. But it can get as bad as making the whole screen dark (not so dark that I can't see). However, when I got a face preset, the problem was lessened. There was still the line of darkness though. Usually, the line of darkness appears when my character's eyes pop inward from a different angle in 3rd person making her look kind of monstrous. I thought maybe I needed an eye mod but that did not fix the problem either.

Thanks for reading and any tips I will be grateful to have. The flickering is getting kinda annoying. And yeah let me know if you need pictures or something.

Hi there, I am not sure what the problem is exactly since I can't see a screenshot of it. I suggest uploading a private album to imgur then linking us to it so we can better assess the issue, that's where most modders upload to, to show a mod or a problem, make sure to make it private though. Could be a problem with Nif file paths or file corruption. I recommend backing up your saves, and then under Steam right click Skyrim then go to local files, then view integrity of files. Is this problem happening on all of your saves? Or only specific saves, could be save corruption as well. Also have you downloaded any custom texture mods or meshes?

Hey thanks for the reply! It happens on all my saves.

I think it might be a little hard to see.

Also i forgot to mention, this is only a problem when I run skyrim with SKSE 64

First of all, SKSE 64 is meant specifically for Skyrim Special Edition, since it's a 64 bit program while Skyrim is 32 bit. Second, I can't view the imgur link. It says that "we've taken a wrong turn".

Im sorry yeah i have skyrim special edition. And try right clicking the highlighted link and click "Go to https://imgur.com/a/OAVwJz5". I got the same error you did by clicking the link but doing it that way fixed it for me at least. And clicking the link here on this post also worked for me.

  • 2 weeks later...

I just had the same exact thing happen on my modded SSE. So far none of the new mods are causing it.

Just found it. On my end it's RaceMenu that's causing it. With all other mods the same disabling this one fixed the issue. Do you have RaceMenu?

I can't save on any recent save that had RaceMenu if I have it turned off so I'm going to have to go back to a prior save before I out it on and stick to just Enhanced Character Edit.

I've also noticed it glitches visuals like when crafting at a forge or enchanting table.
