HELP. Mod Organizer suddenly launching vanilla launcher, instead of SKSE64 for no reason.

Hi Guys.

Okay this has gotten me totally baffled. I think MO updated itself when I last launched it yesterday, as even though it was displaying all my installed mods, it was acting like a fresh install. With the tutorials. Also the skin was the default white. Not the dark skin I use. Though this is an easily correctable issue, this other one isn't....

The game was playing fine, till I just tried to launch it again. It constantly tries to launch the stock vanilla steam launcher. I have had this MO set up working fine for months, with no issues, No installation paths have changed, and the SKSE64 MO launcher IS pointing to the skse64_loader.exe file.

As I said, no paths have changed, and all the correct launchers are pointing to the correct game launch file.

Obviously if I play through the vanilla launcher, none of my mods will work.

I'm TOTALLY baffled as to why, for no reason, it would suddenly start doing this.

Any help, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

***EDIT***

Okay so I've just updated SKSE64. In case that was the issue, but to no avail.

***EDIT***

Okay now I'm even more baffled....

The game won't start at all. Even if I TRY and launch it through Steam. Launching SKSE64 through MO just results in the MO locked dialogue box, a quick flash of the screen, then back to MO.......

Something REALLY screwey has happened, and I've no idea whats caused it.

Have you tried verifying/repairing your game files through Steam? Has your computer installed any updates recently to the OS? What about any antivirus programs you have? Do they still have the proper exclusions and whitelists for Skyrim, MO and Steam? Was your installation pathway for the MO update EXACTLY the same as the original installation? Speaking of installation pathway, did you install Steam or Mod Organizer in either Program Files or Program Files (x86)? If so, that's generally frowned upon due to the high risk of UAC or write-access issues. Another thing to look at might be any sort of system cleaning programs like Piriform CCleaner, as they can potentially delete files that are necessary for Steam or MO to hook the game executable. A quick google search suggests to me that instant messaging platforms like Xfire can interfere with game operation if it's running. And lastly, try disabling Steam Overlay and any other third party programs like Geforce Experience that are meant to "optimize your gaming experience".
