Eil17
Hi everyone...i'm sorry that i have to bother the forum again for this question. But does anyone know if there is anyway to uninstall the Skyrim: High Resolution Texture Pack (Free DLC) from Steam? I was actually uninstalling skyrim today because ive downloaded to much mods and wanted to start from new again, no high graphic mods, just vanilla/classic texture (had some graphic problems and crashes). Anyway, now after ive installed Skyrim from the CD/disc its still patching/downloading from 60% in my library! And that with my slow internet connection will take the whole night if not even tomorrow aswell..(i downloaded the DLC once) So how to delete it? Its like already in my skyrim...as fast i install skyrim new the DLC are with in..its really damn annoying. Ive also already deleted the Program Files(x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim How to delete/uninstall the Skyrim High Resolution Texture Pack from Steam before the real installation? I hope somone here might know, anyway already thanks for help! :-)
sinnerman69
The only way to stop the high resolution texture DLC from installing is if you had backed up the mod else where, put the HighResTexturePack01 BSA, HighResTexturePack02 BSA, and both HighResTexturePack01.esp , HighResTexturePack02.esp back in your Data folder and it well stop steam from installing them, but you have to cancel or stop the other texture DLC in steam first!.. You can't unsubscribe from the Skyrim High Resolution Texture Pack, I googled it already because I too had the Texture DLC and had the same problem when re-installing my game 48hrs ago take out HighResTexturePack01 BSA, HighResTexturePack02 BSA, and both HighResTexturePack01.esp , HighResTexturePack02.esp from your data folder once steam is done updating your game The beta patch 1.7 didn't install the other day on me!.. My game still has patch 1.6.89.0 Edited July 29, 2012 by sinnerman69

Thanks for fast reply Sinnerman69! So what i actually have to do know is just to wait til Skyrim is done with updating and re-downloading the DLC, and AFTER that i can uninstall the DLC? sinnerman69
If you didn't backup the DLC before you have no choice but to wait for the DLC to install!.. Back it up next time and put it in the data folder before steam applys patches again, having those DLC in the Data folder fools steam and it wont try and install it when checking for updates
fms1
You would be better off to leave the DLC contents there and just not have it active, if you ever use the "verify game cache" later on it will re-DL it again if it's not there. Just a heads up on that.
Eil17
And if i just delete the DLC files after it installed, can it still come back for some reason?
fms1
Possibly, if your subscribed to any SW mods and you open the default Skyrim Launcher, mine always "synchronizing" and forcing unwanted updates (to mods), is why I unsubscribed to all SW mods. How to unsubscribe then? The DLC High Res was the only i had from SW( i gues it is Steam Workshop), i just want it away! The mods in SW, you subscribe to, to DL them, those you can unsubscribe to, to stop those from auto-updating. The High Res. DLC I don't think you can (not sure), if not then just don't have it active, and leave it in, no problem.
viper123
I also started added the HD texture pack dlc and only afterwarts relized how big it is, it will take a week of downloading with my crap south african internet speed, luckly have uncapped so though it is slow i am still going to make the download, i was just wondering if it was posible to play while i wait, since the game sees this dlc as an update.
