Crossfire or get a new card?

Recommended Posts

This seemed like a good place to post the question, built my computer a two years ago and havnt kept up with the tech much since so what is the most efficient way to get more gpu power for the least cost?

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core

Radeon HD 5750 1GB 128-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP

8GB G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

APEVIA ATX-AQ700W-BK 700W

Not sure what MOBO is now.

So should I crossfire another 5750 for about a 120 bucks or should I get an entirely new card? I would like to keep it under 200$ but also boost the performance as much as possible, so its actually noticeable. What do you guys think?

New card, the cheapest 7850 you can find.

5750 is not worth crossfiring.

I agree, with the risk of enduring micro stuttering and going through torture it's just not woth it, get a good 7850.

You can sell the old card on craigslist, ebay or wherever locally.

7850 will slightly outperform 2x5750, but more importantly you won't have crossfire headaches.
