Skelltor
So recently I switched from playing skyrim on my console to pc because I really wanted some mods. Skyrim was working ok mod free but then I downloaded several mods and messed around with the skyrimprefs to get mods to work and now I have horrible lag (sorry if I am calling this the wrong thing) that makes it unplayable at all. any ideas for improving speed? or can anyone send me a skyrimprefs file? (I also updated to the 1.6 patch while doing mods, are there issues with that patch?) Here are my specs (sorry if I am missing something) Manufacturer: DellModel: Vostro VOSTRO_200Processor: Genuine Intel® CPU 2140 @ 1.60 GHz 1.60 GHzRAM: 2046mbSystem type: 32-bit windows vista Graphics128mb ATI Radeon x 1300internal DAC (400MHz)approx total memory: 890 mbcurrent display mode: 1360 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz) With everything installed I have 12gb of memory free. Any help at all would be awesome.
Deleted4404112User
I think the ATI graphics might be causing that issue because I heard something about those in particular that were causing fps drops and lag or it could be one of the mods you are using. Skelltor
Ok thanks...do you know of anyway to help them to work together? drivers or something? And I tried unchecking all the mods in data files and it still lagged just the same....would a list of mods help?
Deleted4404112User
Ok thanks...do you know of anyway to help them to work together? drivers or something? And I tried unchecking all the mods in data files and it still lagged just the same....would a list of mods help? I don't think the mods are causing the issue because I have almost the same problem with my FPS dropping from 60 to 10-20 on high quality which is causing severe lag. I had to downgrade to low quality and edit my 3d settings so that Skyrim would be playable. Try turning on low quality in the options menu and try checking for an update on your graphics card for any new drivers. I wish I could help you more with this but my graphics is an nvidia Geforce gtx 260 so I have no clue where to start with the ATIs. If you have any 3d settings or a graphics control panel then try to edit the settings to the lowest quality. Other people are having the same issue and hopefully Bethesda will provide an update or something to fix this because there is virtually no way to fix this problem at the moment. I'm betting on an update before dawnguard releases on the PC so we might have to wait awhile. You could also send a report to Bethesda Support but they never reply fast enough. Also try disabling Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filter. That might help. Edited July 29, 2012 by DJGIRISH
