Michlo
To my mate Tyreil and all other Stargate Atlantis fans who see episodes behind us here in the US - Last Friday's episode was so bad it might make you cry. :( I think it must have been created during the writer's strike or something. It is called "Whispers" and it is the first Stargate episode I have EVER had to use fast forward on, it was that bad. It only had Shepherd in it with no explanation as to why the others weren't on the mission with him and he was joined by some VERY unbelievable glamour girl troops who were just pathetic. Add to that creatures whose only feature seemed to be to jump in front of you and scream (yeah, really scary) and it added up to something they should have been too embarassed to show. I hope this isn't a trend coming up to the end of the series. Cheers.
WoogieMonster
Atlantis conflicts with another show I like on Friday nights, thankfully they both rerun within two hours, but this was the first time I ever turned the channel and did not bother going back. One of the mystery girls was actually a regular extra so she was okay, as was the cute quiet scientist (who doesn't like geek girls?). The one that completely ruined every scene she was in, was the one who apparently thought she was Action Jackson. She wasn't a good enough actress to disguise that her super tough character was in severe conflict with her actual personality and she wasn't pretty enough to get away with such epic failure on such a hot show. The fourth one, all I can remember about her is that she died... I think. That in itself says enough about her. They wrote a horrible episode and attempted to distract us with hot chicks: EPIC FAIL! I've been a fan of Stargate since the original film aired. I just felt that this episode was a slap in the face to us fans. If you look at the thread on their official forums, you'll see that most agree. Cheers.
Blacksnake89
I was a fan of the old stargate movie too. I never really got into the shows though. I tried watching SG-1 a while back but I never really got into it. Without giving away spoilers what's Atlanis about?
Blacksnake89
Hmm I might have to pick up my remote and download a few episodes. See if Atlantis is entertaining. It's been a while since I've watched the original movie. What did the people following Ra call themselves again? The evil ones not the slaves. It's been a while since I've watched the original movie. What did the people following Ra call themselves again? The evil ones not the slaves. Well actually they too were slaves really. They are the Jaffa. The series introduced us to the idea that Ra was one of many beings who call themselves the Goa'uld. Their "host" body is actually just another slave but the alien inside of them is what controls them. You won't see any of those old enemies in Atlantis, however. The city is in another galaxy, the Pegasus galaxy. I won't give anything away but it took the SG1 team some time to figure out how to get there because of the distance involved. If you're going to be downloading you should probably start with the final series of SG1 so you can get the basis for the Atlantis story. :) Cheers.
