Insects

The dutiful child wails

As the final curtain falls

Her mother swallowed by flame

And life will ne'er be the same

The dutiful child shorn of love

Desperately digs up the grave

Hoping to find the realm of spirits

But there are only ever insects

Solus

Another day another stressy

So you slug another whiskey

It makes you quiver

As it destroys your liver

Jack Daniels number seven

Is your shortcut to heaven

Princess

Little princess clutches her sheets tight

Afraid her daddy might come home tonight

Smelling of stale aftershave and alcohol

With slurred eyes that burn so primal

Sick sick sick the number of the beast

Loving her to make another little secret

And the tears that Jesus shed

Doesn't stop her wishing she was dead

Probably not the best ever, but it's my first attempt so be gentle.

I liked it, especially the last one. You have potential that can be molded into perfection. I like your style and your confidence. Can we expect more from you in the future? Edited by Keanumoreira

Insects (polished)

In my head

You're not dead

I am clinging to the threads

Of everything I wish I said

By the grave

Desperate to believe

In an invisible world up above

Where the beloved spirits rove

But the insects

Feast on my doubts

Breeding in your fetid body parts

And if they are there, you are not

Waiting to hear from you mum

Waiting in silence for a long long time

When needs must

We strolled through the park

Where your desires turned dark

Primal urges are taking seed

And you know just what you need

Everytime you down another beer

It gets harder to remember

Sometimes no means no

And inhibitions, you let them go

You drown my screams in your beers

Only seeing the love, and not the tears

You will both feel sick in the morning

But only one of us will be suffering
