Bijin Mods - Body and head don't match (SFW)

Hi! I've been tackling this annoying issue for 3 days now but nothing I tried worked so far. Here are some screenshots which describe it perfectly:

I'm using the Bijin AIO 2019 and the issue only appears on the NPCs affected by this mod. The unaffected ones are absolutely fine. The mod is apparently standalone and provides its own meshes, textures and normal maps so a mismatch of those is probably unlikely. Seems more like a lighting issue to me but I don't really have a deep knowledge about how this sort of stuff works. I've also tried using the optimised meshes from Bijin AIO'soptional files section but the issue persists. I then created a new profile on MO2 and installed just USSEP SKSE and Bijin stuff to zero in on the problem yet to my surprise the same "neck seam" appeared again. It's actually driving me crazy! What could be causing this?

Here's my mod order in MO2:

https://pastebin.com/PMLQy2LZ (The mods are in reverse order and the ones that have a minus before them are not enabled.)

And here's the load order:

Thanks in advance, all the help is very much appreciated!

The textures provided with the "Bijin" mods DO indeed have a neckseam issue. The issue is worst on NPCs using complexion or freckles tintmasks (e.g. Adrienne).

If you want to get rid of those seams, your best bet is to manually copy the textures of your standard female texture replacer into the "Bijin" texture folders (basically overwriting the textures provided by the mod with your default ones).

The textures for the "Bijin" NPCs can be found in SkyrimSE/data/textures/actors/character. There should be several folders named "Bijin_something".

Unfortunately, there are several folders (intended to create some diversity among the "Bijin" NPCs). You can either copy/paste your standard texture into all of them. Or you can use different variants (moles, scars, different normal and specular maps etc.), if your preferred female texture replacer offers such options. Just make sure to use your standard female body textures as a base.

Using your default body texture replacer is a good start because if I remember right, some of the "Bijin" NPCs use the "standard" complexions. If you use a different body texture for the "Bijin" ladies, you might get neckseams again.

In the end, it's probably some trial and error. But it IS possible to get a nice and seamless look on all those NPCs.

Personally, I use this replacer (and its various options). IMHO it fits the Skyrim lore and the "Bijin" characters very well. Attention -NSFW!

First of all, you have no idea how much I appreciate your insight. I've grown pretty obsessive about this issue and it feels great to finally find out what's causing it.

I'm actually using that same replacer as well! It's the best one out there to give the females a weathered look which suits the environment of Skyrim imo. Could you please point out to me the exact files I need to replace? I'd go in blind and give it a try but with how sensitive the issue is I'd really appreciate more elaborate instructions. The mature skin mod has extra texture files compared to the bijin mods IIRC. Do I just override the Bijin ones without adding any new ones?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Glad to help!

It works just as you described: (Re)install the "Bijin" mods, then go to the "data/textures/actors/character" folder in your Skyrim SE directory and find the folders beginning with "Bijin....". Replace ALL the textures there with ones of the exact same name from the version of "Mature Skin" you like best. I chose mostly the "younger" versions, but that's up to you. Make sure you really replace every single one of the original textures, else you might get texture mismatches again. If you copy over one or two files that aren't needed, it's not a big problem. Just some "wasted" disk space.

Good luck ^^

Thanks a bunch! Sorry for the late reply, was busy. I'll definitely give this a try.
