AbrahamBell
Hey everyone, first-time modder here. I've played most games in the Fallout series since 3, never really got into modding but now I want to play FNV with a vanilla+ remaster experience. I followed the instructions given to me in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEYbfFnPj0c&t=422s For some reason, I can't get all the mods to load, only a few. I've gotten Mojave nights, YUP and now the weapons retexture to load. (I think) So far I tried using several mod managers including nexus, eventually, it got too messy and still didn't work so I started from scratch again with nexus and still I can only get a few of them to load. I moved my steam folder from Program Files x86 to my Downloads folder which holds my NMM and my Steam/FNV directory. Still, it doesn't fully work. Also, I have installed NVSE and the 4GB patcher. No NVAC or Stutter remover yet. Anyways, once I have a mod installed, shouldn't it go over to the plugins page to confirm it's active? Sorry if this is a dumb question, i'm trying to get a grasp of all of this! https://imgur.com/VpRoCsR https://imgur.com/CtR5gYX https://imgur.com/bq6Hhzn
dubiousintent
NMM uses "profiles" to determine which "installed" mods it copies into the "Data" folder for a game session. I don't use it myself, but I do know that much. You need to read up more on how it works. Please see the appropriate tutorials under the 'Mod Managers' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. As of 08 May 2018, the Nexus has changed some site security to come into compliance with the new "European Union General Data Protection Regulation" (EU GDPR) rules. This breaks older versions of NMM and other tools using the older unsecured API. It is usually reported as being "blocked by the Windows firewall" or causing a "script" or "W3C XML Schema" error installing mods. You will need to update it from NMM on GitHub (or this Nexus NMM download page but it's older than the GitHub version). Check the version numbers between those sites and use the latest release. Please see this Nexus site news article for details. Some people are finding that even after updating NMM to v0.65.4 they still get a "script exception" message when installing some mods (such as UIO and MCM). This seems to be resolved by this suggestion from user ElysianMod:* Run NMM as an "Administrator privileges" account.* Go to NMM "Settings".* Enable "Add Shell Extensions for Supported File Types".* Then restart NMM. (You should not need "Administrator privileges" this time.)(Supposedly this fix is included in "unofficial" update v0.65.7 and later to NMM on GitHub.) Video guides have their place, but (especially "short and concise" ones) often make assumptions that leave you without essential information in the interests of saving time. I recommend anyone read the entire "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article to understand the differences between this game and others you may have experience with; especially if this is your first attempt to play a modded FNV or it's been more than a year since you last did so. You definitely need NVAC, and the other mods listed in the 'Towards Game Stability' section, even with a pure vanilla game. -Dubious-
AbrahamBell
Thanks for the response! I'll definitely give that wiki a look, thanks for the link. I will also reinstall my NMM with the newer GitHub version. Thanks for your help, I will update after I fully read the wiki and give it another go.
