Enkhoffer
I have what may seem like a strange request, but I am a sucker for immersion and storytelling - and my character has built herself a nice empire in the Commonwealth, so within her context and that of others like her it might not seem so outrageous. As I'm sure you are aware, during gameplay you tend to accumulate a lot of wealth - you strip corpses of your fallen foes of everything, and you need to pay neither taxes nor rent. I came upon a delightful mod a while ago called "Commenwealth Caps - Immersive Money Management and Weighted Bottlecaps" - it did wonders for my immersion as it not only allowed me to put my caps somewhere, but it required me to because now the money weighed something so it actually had an impact that my character was carrying upwards of 25 K pieces of metal in her pockets. One of the only mods I've downloaded for myself with the intention of gameplay becoming less practical. So I started also turning my slave market and fortress at Starlight Drive-In into a stockpile of money - with a secure vault where I placed cap stashes and money transfer certificates inside of a stack of sturdy safes - and also hid little nest eggs everywhere in my settlements the same way I'd previously done with pre-war money.Fun times. But I'd like to take it further. I'd like to see real treasure to put my wealth into. Small treasures that could be found alongside other goodies in the wasteland, if only in very select locations, and also larger scale riches worth thousands of caps - which I think should be only available as bought from vendors. I'd like this so that I have a feeling that I am putting things of real value into my vault, and so that when I stock up her escape hovercraft I will have more than gold bars and caps to trade with primitive tribespeople in other parts of the country. I'd like to see more items made from gold than pocket watches and lighters, and more silver items than silverware. They could contain more or less of the material, as I imagine their main purpose would be decoration and that sweet, sweet immersion. So I imagine Lower Level Treasures to be such things as:- Gold cutlery (knives and forks)- Jewelry, or at least finger rings made from both gold and silver (wearable or not)- Small statues, like bigger set pieces sized down and retextured to gold.- Pearls, which might be found along the coast and in mirelurk nests- Valuable, well-preserved books from the old world (though that might well be a mod in itself) On the farther end of the economy, I'd like things that could be bought for several thousand caps at a time - which means that I don't think they should be able to be found in the Commonwealth, they'd simply be worth too much for simple loot. These Higher Level Treasures might include:- Gemstones, such as diamonds, rubies and emeralds- Priceless pieces of art (maybe paintings, maybe golden and jewel-encrusted trinkets)- Paper deeds to pieces of property (places you've already settled, or plan to) I realize the economy of America changed after the bombs started falling, and that people have other criteria for what they consider valuable - but our character still remembers what it meant to be rich, dammit! And a warlord of the wastelands still wants something tangible to signify their wealth. Edited February 27, 2019 by Enkhoffer
