Bad flicker with SSE (is nVidia card to blame?) (Oldrim play beautifully)

Hi Guys,

I have no problem running Oldrim, but when I try to run SSE the flicker is horrendous. I have been told that nVidia cards have issues with SSE. Is that true? if so what is the cure (apart from buying a new non-nVidia PC). I have tried rolling back the nVidia driver. I have tried the TAA setting and the FXAA setting and the OFF setting. I have gone into properties and made sure that the nVidia GPU is selected. I have prayed to the mighty Zarquon. (OK, that's a lie. I am leaving Zarquon as a last resort)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is that more than 50% of game players are using one or more Nvidia cards, so the brand is not your problem. Which Nivida card are you using? Are you trying to start game modded or vanilla?

Did you try R. click on the game-->properties--> run compatibility troubleshooter?

I would not roll back drivers, keep latest. Maybe it's a Nivdia setting. Try going into "Nivida Control Panel", go to adjust desktop size and position under Display, then look for a check box that says, override the scaling mode set by games and programs.

If you are using racemenu and if the flicker is like a glitching issue at eye-level or hovering glitch above head - try this fix:

Expired (the creator of Racemenu) forgot to disable the currently buggy and nonfunctional Face Overlays in the latest update, which is causing a ton of visual bugs, such as the aforementioned missing eyes.

You don't need to downgrade to an older version, you can fix this yourself by disabling the face overlays. Find the SKSE/Plugins folder, inside the Racemenu mod. In this folder, you should find a file called skee64.ini. Open it with a text editor (I usually use NotePad for this) go to the [Overlays] section and set bEnableFaceOverlays=1 to bEnableFaceOverlays=0.
