fms1
Is it a lighting effect or partial render issue (if that's possible)?

ginnyfizz
I think they did something funny with the shaders and the bodymods (not the same thing as body replacer) files in the 1.6.89 update. (It wouldn't be the first time they did such stuff.) The reason I say that is because the particular body replacer I had been using up until recently developed some very strange light effects, at times not unlike what you have there. Despite some tweaking to the UV the effect kept returning, so I had to change body replacer. It had been OK up until the 1.6.89 update. Now the fact that you are not using any mods, and still getting a similar effect to me (ie a character/critter body being affected) coupled with the fact that I know my hardware is fine makes me suspect that my thoughts may be correct. I would suggest logging on to Steam and deleting and re-acquiring your game files, aka a reinstall. Unfortunately this means that you will end up with the 1.7 version, but this may not be so dire for you as for some folks (like me) as you don't have mods. ginnyfizz
It might do. What video card are you using? May need to update drivers, or check if your vid card is OK.
