Adipose
Okay, got my wires completely tangled and seemingly unable to sort them. Recently had my comp reformatted. Solved lots of problems, included a growing inability to carry out proper search of the Nexus. Formatted drive had TES5Edit installed. Now gone as I played safe and had them redo the lot. Assumed(rofl)that I'd be able to reinstall. Not so. My understanding is that I need to have 7Zip installed prior to installing TES5Edit. Then I need to download T5E and have 7Zip open it for the install. Can't get the combo to work. Anyone have any suggestions? 'Course, TES5Edit now a bit more complicated than it was due to the whole xEdit development. On running LOOT it turns out that I've got a ton of mods to clean up and I've no idea how to begin. wfandrews
You can safely ignore most of LOOTs warning about ITMs and UDRs. The only ones that might concern you are the Update.esm and the DLC esms', you can safely clean them. The thinking about cleaning your esm game files has been changing, before the consensus was that it was necessary to clean them, now, not so much. Lately I have just been cleaning my UDRs and the game runs fine so far. In the new TES5Edit there are many ITMs and wild edits that they say have just been noticed and now you are supposed to clean them. The way I see it is that I have been playing the game for years with those ITM, UDR, and wild edits and it has been running fine, they have not just suddenly appeared but have been there all along. If it makes you feel better you can clean them, except for mod ITMs. Just follow the link to the cleaning guide at the end of the notice in LOOT. From what I understand you should only clean ITMs in your Update and DLCs and not in mod files as LOOT has no way of knowing if those ITMs are necessary for the mod to function properly. Make sure you do not have the dev file of TES5Edit it should have 7z on the end of the extension.
