joshjonesak
Have searched the forums for this issue for the past few days before posting but wasn't able to find a fix. I did a fresh install of Vortex and Java is up to date. Found all my games but couldn't activate any steam games - was able to activate Dragon Age Origins as well as download and activate mods however when I attempted to deploy the mods it freezes at 35%. I left it to run all night and it never advanced. If I shut the program down and reopen it to try again it does the same thing. Attached is the Diagnostic file under Debug mode as no errors are given. Any advice would be appreciated.

BigBizkit
"Found all my games but couldn't activate any steam games" What exactly happened when you tried to activate them? Did Vortex give you an error message, and if yes, what was the exact wording?
joshjonesak
as stated in OP there is no error message. On "activate" the program will go through it's normal process until it hits "starting deployment" and then do nothing for hours if you let it. On Deployment it'll advance to 30% or so, the PC will pop up then "do you want to allow" box and after hitting "yes" it simply stays at 30%, goes no further. I let it run all night and it didn't go up a single %. If I dismiss the deployment in progress Vortex has to be shut down and reopened to attempt another deployment. The deployment button also does nothing, in order to start deployment I have to attempt to launch the game and the "mods not deployed" warning pops up - i'll hit deploy there and it'll start but again, don't finish attempted to switch deployment methods to "hardlink" however vortex wont purge the mods either... BigBizkit
Ah, I see. I think this might be related to an issue that has been fixed in the build that we are currently testing. It could be the case that one or several of the mods you have contain read-only files/folders, which (essentially) causes problems when Vortex tries to deploy them. joshjonesak
would it matter that I've given authority to the pc to have read/write on the entire folder?
