Deleted4169753User
I've been noticing this problem lately that whenever I approach stonewalls or structures covered in moss textures they pop or draw in at a close distance. When I move further away I can see the moss progressively disappearing from the walls and when I move slowly towards the the stonewall/structures they progressively pop up or draw in. I've read that this problem is more apparent on Radeon cards using AA or multisampling or something (there seems to be conflicting answers to this), but I have a GTX 680. Previously, I had a GTX 480 and I don't ever remember having this problem. I've pretty much tried everything from using every combination of tweaks from setting Antialiasing to 2x and up to 32x CSAA with and without multisampling and supersmapling, using FXAA, enabling/disabling texture filtering; nothing seems to work. I use an ENB, but I am sure that is not the problem since I removed that, too from the Skyrim Data folder. I also have a save with a Level 1 character starting from Riverwood with 100% no mods installed and using the Skyrim's default ULTRA settings and the problem still persists. I've read Nvidia Inspector has a extended settings that has solved a majority of graphical problems, so I might mess with that a bit. Anyways, does anyone know how to remedy this problem before I dive into the Nvidia Inspector as it seems the settings are very extensive and I wanted to ask if anyone has found a simple solution yet that's probably right under my nose. Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Turn TRSSAA off in NVCP2. Disable all mods Its annoying prob from Bugthesda.
gamefever
I hate to say it but your card might not be supported fully yet. It sounds like you ran out and got a real nice one. Without the right tweaked drivers your not going to see your game at its best. Have you tried measureing your FPS? You need to retweak everything now don't assume that since you've got a nice card that your game will run better that's not always the case.If your card is supported fully and the tweaked drivers yada yada you still need to do the tweaking that you'd normally do anyway. You've made the correct first step by playing unmodded and identifing that it happens even when the game is not modded. Next using an FPS detector with ENB pulled out includeing the D393.dll <--named it wrong Why why do you have to pull ENB out well check this file Skyrimrenderinfo.ini It'll look like thisRenderer Device Information: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti<---your card information should read your card but with most ENB it'll actually fake a subpar card to yours I'm not 100% on this but I say that's bad to me it means that the game doesn't know you've got a good card, it just can't be good in my opinion.Mybe someone will come along and blast me but for now your resetting your rig for performance until you have it tweaked to your likeing. I'm going to assume that you know how to check the Nvidea tweak guide found through Google and follow that for tweaking Other problems can be bottlenecking like power supply and such but I'll leave that to hard ware guru's Edit I'm assuming you tossed/backup your old .ini files to make new one'sBut But But.....Your ENB is still installed and guess what man. It's telling your computer you have a subpar card. If not then you need to tweak your new INI to effect the range at which Decals will show up in game. And thats easy to do.In skyrimprefs.initype decal in the ctrl f boxfDecalLOD2=fDecalLOD1=these lines effect the fade range they might look like thesefDecalLOD2=2000.0000fDecalLOD1=1000.0000 there are a ton of little tweaks you will have to make to improve little stuff like what your noticing now with your new card. Adalwulf
There seems to be a lot of people with this problem. Even so there's not much to be found, not even close to a solution, only for the people using radeon cards and whatnot (using a GTX 680 myself).Looks like decal level of defail isn't involved, tried tweaking most decal values and NOTHING happens. It's so immersion-breaking I'm crying!I'd love finding a solution but I'm this close to throwing this game out the window. The time spent on it is more tweaking/fixing than actual gameplay, and with every new patch something breaks even more.
Adalwulf
Never mind, found a real 100% sure solution, no joking. :DThis i'm sure of: it has NOTHING to do with uGridsToLoad, or fDecalLOD. More to do with the lightning shaders. Edited November 7, 2012 by Adalwulf
