kevkiev
I really think that Dawnguard is high quality stuff so far (Even on texture-side). Many new meshes and textures for gear and architecture that makes it fresh. Anyone who're into vampires should definitely get this! That's interesting, and one of the things I've always been curious about DG. So DG doesn't have the pixel soup that was in a lot of places in the main skyrim even with the high rez DLC? (I've lost count of the texture replacers I have.) Do you find a that DG uses many assets from the main game such that some of your texture mods show up in DG? Dextradamusz
I've played like 7 hours straigth without getting a single bugg, ctd, screen freeze. I'm running 77 mods including UFO and other popular mods, no problems what so ever... But every PC is diffirent so I cant tell if your mods will work as fine. I might add that BEFORE Dawnguard I've always had trouble with buggs and CTDs in Skyrim, and now they appear to be.. gone... that's the last thing I expected to be honest.Nice DLC, gonna have tons of hours and fun with Skyrim now:D
Blu02
That's interesting, and one of the things I've always been curious about DG. So DG doesn't have the pixel soup that was in a lot of places in the main skyrim even with the high rez DLC? (I've lost count of the texture replacers I have.) Do you find a that DG uses many assets from the main game such that some of your texture mods show up in DG? Well, it's not exactly standalone, so there are of course still lots objects and textures borrowed from the full game, like random clutter and furniture. But both Dawnguards and vampires have their own new architecture, for example. They have their own new robes, light armor, heavy armor, and some weapons. There are also a bunch of new "enemies"/creatures and special objects and effects. On textures, I wouldn't say they are the same awesome quality as our 2/4k texture mods, but they're definitely not as bad as Skyrims original textures. It's good enough to blend in with the various texture-packs you have installed. Definitely not something I instantly feel needs to be improved. So I'd say Bethesda has put a good amount of work into this DLC, and not just built a few missions in the editor with already existing Skyrim material. I guess with a DLC they didnt have to compress everything into pure s*** so it would fit on a DVD ;) I took a few screenshots of some things I could find in my current save. No spoilers for anyone who have seen the trailers. http://i.minus.com/ibwXPXHg7qaQBq.jpghttp://i.minus.com/iJwzATt0Ha24L.jpghttp://i.minus.com/iViU3iDcy8qPe.jpghttp://i.minus.com/iboNxVdk6HaWyQ.jpghttp://i.minus.com/ibllX3goZNj48I.jpghttp://i.minus.com/ibtC0aHIPOUl64.jpg
sinnerman69
I think they did a awesome job on this DLC, way better then any of the DLC's they released for Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I think you all need to stop your bellyaching and let the modding community have a chance to update and make mods for dawnguard, that may take take a few months or longer, to happen!.. Remove any custom races and vanity mods and wait for those to be updated and play vanilla races for now and avoid the day light in tell a all night dawnguard mod is created

sinnerman69
I really liked the new dog companion's and the dialog commands to talk to them, but they can die in combat and aren't essential and only one dog and a human companion at a time
chrishusky
is anyone else having problems with getting through the Vampire quest line? i want to get the vampire quest line achievements out of the way so i can focus on the dawnguard ones after, but i cant get the next quests. after i get the vampire lord power, harkon tells me to get speak to Garen Marethi, but when i do he tells me "mortals shouldnt be walking around the castle, go talk to harkon". the first time this happened i went to talk to harkon, but he didnt even acknowledge me, then i disabled all my mods, but the problem persist. id rather not use console commands. if anyone knows how to fix this please, help me out. eltucu
I guess everyone complaining about the price thinks software developers work for free. No, i'm actually trying to get a Computer Science (Computing Licentiate specifically) degree and be a software developer, and I still think it should be priced 15 USD at most. Try being a 3d artist with a tight time limit for a project. You suddently feel it should cost 40 USD. For 20 houres of gameplay, added tons of new models and textures, together with new animations and fun stuff to play with, I struggle to see the difference in paying 15, or 20, USD. Then again, I suspect the price will drop to 10-15 in not too long, and then drop to 5-10 for any steam deals it is included with. Of course, as long as Bethesda doesn't milk the DLC too much. Which wouldn't come as a suprise either -- as Bethesda likes milking.
