Hi, Ive just started using mods recently. Ive been reading alot about OOO, Frans and FCOM overhauls. My question is, where do I start? Wrye Bash? Script extender or The Mods themselves?

My Pc specs are 2 Gigs of ram and GeForce 6800 GS, and A dedicated hard drive, It's a pretty good setup. Sometimes I crash when there is way too much stuff going on but other than that it runs smooth. I keep the grass and long distance visibilty low.

This is my mod list in order from FCOM Helper.

FCOM Helper

OBMM

Oblivion.esm

oc_darker_nights.esp

Reznod_Mannequin.esp

DLCHorseArmor.esp

DLCOrrery.esp

DLCMehrunesRazor.esp

DLCSpellTomes.esp

Dreadweave Complete_Heavy.esp

Muffin Display Rooms.esp

DLCFrostcrag.esp

Knights.esp

The Lost Spires.esp

Lost Paladins of the Divines.esp

DecoratorAssistant v1.1.esp

P1DkeyChain.esp

MidasSpells.esp

What I'm looking for is optimal gameplay, new items, mobs to beat and lots of new stuff to do.

What Im not:Naked or half naked vid-girls(I prefer the realdeal) or graphic tweaks. My comp cant handle much more.

I was reading FCOM Convergance, it seems like a BIG job. Is it really worth it? And If I do where can I start and where can I find the most comprehensive FAQ's to walk me through it?

Thanks in advance,

Mad

Yes, FCOM convergeance IS really worth the pain of installation. Personnally i couldn't play Oblivion without it anymore ! And with FCOMHelper, it's not so hard to install anymore.

So first i install Francesco's mod. Easy, beacause it's .exe files and it will ask you what options you want to use. Can't really do anything wrong there.

Then i install MMM. Takes a little bit more time because there are lots of version to install one after another, from v3.0 to v3.6 b2 (i think). My hint : until the last version, just install the texture, meshes and other folders, don't bother to install any esps. In the last version, choose the esps that will go with your mods list.

Then i install OOO. Takes a little bit of time also, but the last updates are in .exe format and it's much easier.

To say the truth, i also use WarCry, Loth's blunt weapons and other mods like the Unique Landscapes.

Then, on to FCOM itself. Its quite easy : you install the main esps then you go to optional esps and choose the ones that fit your mods lists. If you have any doubt, install them, it's only esps after all.

Then the magic occurs : install FCOMHelper with the last f_order.txt file and it will tell you, among those big overhauls, with esps are not needed (displaying a Warning ! FCOM installation error or something like that) and what you miss to make everything run smooth (displaying a note : needs xxxx mod to work properly).

It really saves time, the game becomes harder because more balanced, with lots of new mobs, options, and items. No bimbos, no graphic tweaks !

Don't forget to install the latest versions of all the unofficial patches (Oblivion, Shivering Isles, DLC mods), it kills lots of annoying bugs !
