bbardz Posted August 3, 2012 Share Posted August 3, 2012 I have played and modded FO3 and New Vegas from this site, so I'm not exactly brand new to the modding business, but here's my question:I have played (not completed) Skyrim twice on xbox 360 (I always got sidetracked), and I have recently bought it for PC with the intention of modding.Seeing as I have played it, I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions on mods to improve the experience.I usually play as a mage/thief character, so any mods with new perks or abilities for those kind of classes would be ideal.Otherwise, just general mods that add in content and generally improve the style of the game.Thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
austyn12090 Posted August 3, 2012 Share Posted August 3, 2012 A popular choice for mages is the Apocalypse spell package that adds over 150 unique spells to the game that give a lot of strategy. There's also Phenderix Magic Evolved, which while not as complex as Apocalypse, is great for roleplaying characters due to adding several different archtypes (holy, earth, dark, wind, water, Ect.). Phenderix \also adds an archtype of blood spells that cost health to use. If you use Phenderix I would advise getting Apocalypse too since it has an "erase spell" spell. Otherwise your spellbook might get a bit clogged up with Phenederix's spells (there's 270, but most of them are pretty similar to eachother). A great mod for any replay is the Skyrim Monster Mod which adds tons of monsters to Skyrim. The only problem with it is A. I believe it replaces vanilla animals and B. some of the creatures it adds are lore breaking (people don't seem to like tricera tops in a game that has mammoths, yet nobody complained when he made a Balrog). I also hear that it can be a bit buggy, but then again, so can vanilla Skyrim. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

In the end I went with Midas Magic and apocalypse, and Phendrix evolved conflicted with my other mods, such as greater perk trees.As for Mo monsters, I downloaded a package that removes the lore-breaking ones so that's all sorted.
