NPC infinite sheathing/unsheathing loop when aggro

Hello everyone,

I've been having the same bug for a while now, and still couldn't find a fix for it. The bug is this : some npc like bandits would infinitely sheathing and unsheathing their weapons on approach. As they spot me, the enemies remain stuck in the aggro drawing weapon animation. I've tried a new install with no mods, with a new save, and the bug still shows. It seems to be a vanilla thing and I don't manage to trigger the bug in Classic Skyrim, even with mods. But in SE, whatever I do, I just cannot get rid of it at all.

 

I'm sure there are other people facing this bug right now. I've found several threads on the internet about it but noone seem to have found a fix. What is interesting is that it seems to have occured in Classic Skyrim at some point in the past, as I also found posts pointing at the exact same problem in Classic around 2013. Has it been fixed in Classic and not in SE ?

I'm begging for help, if anyone knows anything, it would be very welcomed. This issue is keeping me away from the SE version and that's too bad.

Hi again,

 

I found a fix !!! At least it works for me so far. Finally, after all these weeks ! Just download and install the mod called Combat Behavior Improved (SSE version) from the Nexus. It makes the enemies spot you as soon as you enter their sight (even from far away), so it makes it more realistic (and harder) and stops the sheathing/unsheathing loop to trigger ! It doesn't fix all the detection issues, so you may want to combine it with other mods for that, but at least it fixes this terrible loop bug. The mod is recommended to be used with Combat Evolved, which I do and it works just fine.
