LucidDreaming
Duplicating a world space causes the geck to freeze. I saw a thread from half a year ago that mentioned other ways using FNVPlugin or FNVEdit to duplicate the world. First of all, could anyone give a quick explanation of how to do so? Also, I notice that FNVEdit hasn't been updated in a while; nor has FOMM. Are they still worth getting?
viennacalling
Also, I notice that FNVEdit hasn't been updated in a while; nor has FOMM. Are they still worth getting? I can't address your question about duplicating worldspaces, but FNVEdit is still the only good low-level record editor for New Vegas. FOMM is no longer maintained, but still gets used quite a bit because it has some features that Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) doesn't, NMM is still in beta, and it sometimes just works better for people than NMM. LucidDreaming
I'll go get FNVEdit and the two mod managers then. Also, I found the old post on duplicating world spaces, but could someone explain to me what it says? If you wish to duplicate a worldspace into a different esp, you just need to copy the worldspace as an override into FNVEdit. One issue is that it also copies the FORM ID, which can cause some errors if you are copying into a large mod.
viennacalling
The first sentence is the method for duplicating the worldspace. Try the FNVEdit Training Manual for hopefully a better insight into the actual steps. The second sentence means that the copying process may copy too much, which could possibly overwrite something in your mod. So if you can, duplicate the worldspace first into an empty mod and then build the rest of your mod from there.
LucidDreaming
Thanks. I ended up just copying the entire map (it is a small world space), but the training manual will be really helpful later on.
