Making conversations

Are there any tutorials on making passing conversations? I'd like the player to say to an actor...

"Do you know you're dead?"

And get the same reply from 3,4,5 or 6 NPCs everytime the player asks the above question...

"I'd lay off the mead if I were you"

or

"You're crazy"

etc.
