Project Nevada - MCM Display Glitch

Recommended Posts

Ok, so, as I posted here a couple of days ago - https://taleoftwowastelands.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=7321&p=64246#p64246 - and still haven't gotten a reply yet. I have been having trouble with Project Nevada's MCM Menus. So, right off, this is TTW 2.9.4, so PN will work with it just fine. But when I go into the MCM menu to change some of the options, like, for example, Perks Per Level, it will pop up a slider, like usual, but instead of a number it shows as -1.#IND and the slider doesn't seem to work. Anyone know why and how to fix? Thanks!

Oh, and as someone said this before, I do have a Merge Patch, that's what the "TTW Merge Patch Alpha" is.

Haven't heard of that particular problem before. But usually problems like that are the result of conflicting XML files. Please see the wiki "HUD-UI-Menu issues" article. While it does not discuss specific TTW mods, it should give you an idea as to what sort of issues you might be having or need to look into.

So... Don't see an install order in it just that A conflicts with B. I use UIO and, it looks like there is a new version. So I should uninstall UIO then update it so it'll grab all these various UIs (MCM, PN, OHud, Primary Needs HUD, etc) and fixes them?

There is a bit of "install order" implied in the "UI Menu Overrides" section. But the new version of UIO (note the updated NVSE and JIP requirements) is supposed to handle XML conflicts (such as those imposed by the older version of MCM in "Project Nevada") better.

Note also that oHUD already incorporates Primary Needs and the other earlier HUD versions, so it should be the only one by Gopher that you need.

If you do still have problems (because some of those TTW specific mods look like they might be UI related), then you may need to actually look into the XML files for the same sort of entries described in that article and manually fix them. You can find the v2.9.4b pages on the "Internet Archive" site. (The old TTW site got hacked and this is the only way to obtain the old material):

* Alpha download page

* v2.9.4b FAQ

* Tech Support forum (historical only)

Well, mostly fixed it, Rebalance is still broken. Bah. I'm just going to restart my run with out PN installed and use a mod specifically for level 100 and Perk Per Level and let TTW reduce my Exp. That combined with a Skills Above 100 type mod should suffice me for clearing out two Wastelands and a load of DLCs plus NVB etc. Thanks man. :D

Not that I am aware of? I did break Grib's FO4 style Loot mod, but, at a wild guess, as JIP updated after his mod, the JIP I am using is too new for it. But that's just a wild guess. Waiting for him to get back to me on what went wrong. Otherwise it's working. Surprisingly enough, I removed PN entirely plus patches as Rebalance is broken, not sure if it's just a UIO XML that needs fixing or what. But for giggles, figuring worse case FNV would just crash or things would display weirdly or something, I loaded up the last save I made before removing PN. It *seems* to be working. And, yeah, I can raise my Difficulty back to Normal. Before I removed PN the Zetans in MSZ were just raping me hard core even on Very Easy / Easy. Two had me in a corner with shock batons and nearly killed me. Nothing I could adjust as Rebalance is broken. Managed to get MSZ done and finished up NVB, starting on NVBII. I'm just watching it to see if anything goes crazy, hopefully not, but, eh, I already had planned on restarting so... Still need to hunt down a mod or two to make up for the loss of PN and it's extra features. But now I am using TTW for reducing XP, it's built into it's Options mod, a mod for a perk every level (with two games worth there are so many that even with 1 every level still wouldn't even have half of them by the time I'm done) , level 100 cap, and one that should let me level up even if I manage to set all skills to 100. Need to find a mod that will let me zoom in scopes. I am missing that functionality as I creep up on bounty targets with a scoped sniper and can't zoom in on my target. >.<
