n3rdb0y
As the title indicates I've started experiencing CTD's at the main menu as soon as I press any key to continue. Running F4SE version: 0.6.16 Fallout Runtime Version: 1.10.130Using Way to the Lost mod guide for last couple of playthroughs and the one I was starting up today I have a lot of merged mods, some mods that came as ESL's and some I've converted to ESL's (which I had run on a previous runthrough with no issues.)The default texture BSA's incorporate a lot of replacement textures per the guide I followed and worked fine on my last few runthroughs. I have most of the CC content (more fool me) and some mods that interacted with CC content (mostly VIS-G and some mods that make the questions more immersive.) When starting this playthrough I used my unmodded starting save (still in Vault 111, Male with the vault door just opened (to cater for an issue that would occur with Looksmenu.}) Of the CC content, I had removed the Tunnel Snakes mod (to avoid the Codsworth bug) then loaded my unmodded starting save. I let the various mods do their startup etc. Then customised my character and left the vault with no issue, met Codsworth, killed the insects and then went into the Sanctuary Basement. I then exited, connected to Creation Club and downloaded the Tunnel Snakes mod and closed the game. Started the game and it CTD'd at the main menu - disabled some 'new' mods I was trying for the first time on this playthrough - no luck. Removed all the CC content and was able to get to the main menu without it crashing. Started downloading CC content and some downloaded way faster than I recalled, exited and restarted the game and CTD's on main menu. Found some of the content did not have the main and texture BSA's, only the ESL's had downloaded for some CC mods, others had downloaded successfully. Copied the missing files for some mods as a test - started up okay, then put the rest of the CC mods in and once again CTD at main menu. I've disabled connection to the Internet, blocked the executable etc with no luck. Load order is fine and didn't vary much from my last playthrough which was working with only the occasional crash after a few hours of playing. ini files were minimal and I've already cleared those and run manually to start with new ones - no impact until I removed the CC content. Validating the game files probably won't help me as I have made significant changes to the default texture files (with no ill effect on previous playthroughs.) Has anyone experienced anything similar with CC content seeming to break their game at the main menu since the last update?
VemyrKycil
Here's one for you: I'm having precisely that same problem sans CC content. For the last day and a half I've been steadily reinstalling every mod I have and discovering that something changed literally every single mod file so hard that not a single fresh Nexus download was recognized by Vortex as the original file. At first I figured it was my dumb mistake for saying "save changes" when something went bonkers and said everything was changed outside of Vortex, but now every single absolute time I try to reinstall from within vortex it immediately tells me something tried to change files outside of vortex. Downloading anew generates no such issue, but at this point I'm starting to think Vortex itself is the problem. Then again, starting a new profile with the express intent of testing if I can get the game to load with an absolute bare-bones f4se-only mod list worked perfectly fine. There's the distinct possibility we might have a similar issue, but at this point, I just have no idea why my mods keep re-writing themselves
n3rdb0y
Forgot to mention that I am still using NMM 0.65.11 - I have been planning to move to Vortex but had put it off until I had the time to spend migrating to it as I onlh have limited time on the weekend to spend on playing it. I had been hoping to avoid it but I might have to reinstall my entire mod list from scratch - will probably take me 2 weekends to get all my mods reinstalled from scratch.
