Stemin
I don't know if the stickies in each section are old, or if people are just not following them and I'd like some clarification.... I'm specifically talking about the Skyrim General Discussion and Skyrim Spoiler forums. The way I read the stickies (and I interpreted it the same when I first joined here), the General Discussion should have no spoilers whatsoever, and the Spoiler forum is a free for all where you can post stuff without fear of moderation (game content wise). But since then, I've seen a lot of stuff that gets posted in the General Discussion forum but they use the spoiler BB code to black it out, and this seems to be acceptable. However, I've also seen at least one moderator complain about lack of spoiler bb codes in the Spoiler forum. I suppose the stickies could pre-date the addition of a spoiler bb code feature, but complaining about not using spoiler tags in a spoiler forum just doesn't make sense to me. Could a moderator please clarify and also maybe the stickies need updating? I know people ignore the stickies a lot here and sometimes the mods don't catch stuff ( I try to report when I notice them), but like I said above one of the examples was of a moderator complaining about the lack of spoiler tags in a spoiler forum. bben46
If a poster uses the spoiler code, then it is the readers responsibility to not peek if they don't want to see the spoiler. If the spoiler is the topic of the thread, then it 'Should' be posted in the spoilers section and not in the general forums. However, if the spoiler is in response to a post, then spoiler tag is appropriate in just about any forum post. We do warn and give strikes for posting spoilers without warning people or using the spoiler bb code. For those who don't know how. Creating a spoiler - Highlight the information you want hidden by the spoiler code. Then click on the 'Other Styles' box on the top row of the post - click on the spoiler code in the drop down menu - and the spoiler will be hidden behind a black box. Reading a spoiler Here is the spoiler  . click on the 'show' in the highlighted box to see it.

That all seems common sense enough, but what about the moderator complaining about the lack of spoiler tags in a spoiler forum? I thought the idea of a spoiler forum was to be able to post spoilers without restraints?
