muzu Posted August 5, 2012 Share Posted August 5, 2012 Howdy all,Had a quick look around the forums and didn't see anything exactly like this so allow me to explain my issue. I get the bloodline quest, take the girl back to the castle..Harkon starts blabbing on and then when hes supposed to give a demo of his powers nothing happens he just stands there..I tried moving things a long a little by using the setstage command in the console but that doesn't help at all, people either think I'm already a vampire so won't make me one, OR they just completely ignore me. I really want to play as a vampire lord but this Harkon bug has pretty much stopped me progressing. Has anyone else encountered this bug? Oh the UESP wiki it is listed but there's no solution posted, I've tried disabling mods..various save files..upping my level...everything I just can't get past this point in the game and its REALLY pissing me off now. muzu Posted August 5, 2012 Author Share Posted August 5, 2012 Yup that's exactly my problem, I thought it might have something to do with my using the alternative start mod...But Even with that disabled its still borked. Is there anyway to enable debugging in the console? Maybe if there is an error it'll pop up in there and I can try and figure out how to fix it. I doubt there will up one soon in case thats the only solution. EDIT: It posted me first post instead of the new one for some reason. EDIT::Enabled debugging no errors were thrown out so now to google to try and see if I can find anyone else talking about this bug..Someone else must have it because the bug was on the uesp wiki...EDIT 2:: Gonna try a reinstall see if that fixes it, might have to start from the beginning again but..if it works it works. muzu Posted August 5, 2012 Author Share Posted August 5, 2012 Right then..Had steam update skyrim again and check all local files and all that good stuff and now I've made SLIGHT progress, Lord Harkon now doesn't walk back to the table like he used too, nor does he transform BUT when you try and talk to him now (after the convo when hes supposed to transform) he just makes a sort of..roaring/orgasm noise which I'm assuming in the noise he makes when he's supposed to transform. What I'm going to try next is setting my characters race to a vampire and trying again to see what happens...Can't see it'll make much difference but I've tried everything else. muzu Posted August 5, 2012 Author Share Posted August 5, 2012 The vampire thing gives an additional dialogue option but doesn't alter the outcome still nothing happens. I'm trying to think logically what would cause this to happen and I'm thinking either the script crashes which I think would lead to a game crash, the mesh its trying to find isn't there...But normally you get that red triangle thing when that happens...So all I can think is the system is waiting for something else to happen...I can be sure its not a mod conflict because I don't have any mods active...I've only found one other post about this but that didn't have any replies so it does seem to be a very very rare problem so its very likely Bethesda won't do anything about it....I'm beginning to loose hope to be honest I can't think of a single thing to try now...Its so frustrating!
