Black screen when launching Skyrim

Hello,

So I've got this annoying problem with Skyrim since I've reinstalled Windows on my computer, it refuses to display ANYTHING but a black screen right after launch.

What I've tried so far;

-Disabling Dawnguard.esm, no luck.

-Changing Skyrimprefs.ini, no luck. (set back)

-Updating drivers, were already up to date.

-Installing the latest Directx, was also already up to date.

-Reinstalling Skyrim without and with it's updates, no luck.

-Running TESV.exe/SkyrimLauncher.exe as an administrator.

I've got an NVIDIA GeForce 310M graphics card, which runs Skyrim on medium and my PC runs on Windows 7 (not genuine).

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

This has also happened to me. I was playing fine two days ago, then today I try to launch Skyrim through skse_launcher.exe (I am running about 120 mods and an ENB) and it flashes a quick blacked out window and fails to launch. I then downloaded the latest version of skse and that still didnt work. I try verifying game cache files through Steam and that still doesnt work. I try running tesv.exe as admin and still doesnt work. I verify current up to date Nvidia drivers, still doesn't work. Since the launch of this DLC that I didnt even install my game is now broken. Also of note, in data files i have no load loose files box nor do I see skyrim.esm in the load order, yet i see it in Boss and Wrye Bash. I have no idea what to do now and I just want to play my game. :(

So I figured out that it was the ENB I had running being the problem. I tried deleting d3d9.dll in the skyrim folder to see what would happen and sure enough the game launches without the enb running. Once I narrowed it down to that I put the .dll file back in and disabled EVGA Precision X tray monitoring program that decided to turn itself back on for some reason. So to the thread starter check to see if you have an out of date d3d9.dll or are running a monitoring program in the background if you are running an ENB preset. I already knew about this problem but because mine enabled itself coincidentally on the day of Dawnguard release I assumed some sort of Steam update had corrupted something on my end. Hope this helps.

This is a simple load order issue. The way to solve it would be to grab the programs TES5Edit and BOSS. TES5Edit has many functions, and one of them includes running through your mods and seeing if it can do it, this can show you the problems usually. BOSS is a tool that will automatically attempt to put your mods in the correct order so that the masters are all before any dependant mods and all that good stuff. This can also be done manually by going through the load order with your mod manager, whether it be NMM or MO or whichever thing you choose to use.

There are many guides around for using both of these programs so I won't go into all the details.

Oh, and Wrye Bash is also very useful if you're running a multitude of mods, it can help merge some of them to spread functionality across them all and make things better overall
