Jaig
Hoping somebody out there can still help me save my endgame!Whether they are objectively the best or not, the best weapon and shield for my one-handed warrior Inquisitor usually ends up being the Revered Defender Longsword and the Revered Defender Bulwark. Which is fine... except in my opinion, they are both ugly as sin. Just... really top-heavy and slab-like, and... ugh. I hate staring at them for half the game. I would greatly appreciate it if one of you crazy modding wizards out there could replace the models with the Longsword of the Dragon and Ornate Round Shield models, respectively. Stats and materials are perfectly fine the way they are, I only want the models switched around. I don't know the feasibility of mixing and matching between DLCs like this, but I am hoping it's fairly simple. Anyway, thanks in advance!
nightscrawl
https://www.dropbox.com/s/7kubf3ijmqj8ete/refered_def_SNS_edits.zip?dl=0 It's so nice when someone has a simple request. You didn't specify whether you wanted daimod or Frosty, so I included both, along with the Frosty project. Because this is so simple, I encourage you to load up Frosty and see how the changes were made so you can do future edits yourself. Model changes like this are incredibly simple, and it opens up a lot of personalized modifications that you don't have to wait for some random modder to fulfill, or hope that their taste matches with your own. Some warning. I did not test this mod. I do not have those items in my game and have yet to even play Descent. I don't know if the daimod version will play nice with the DLC; they sometimes do not. Also, a bit of a potential issue regarding the sword appearance. I don't know if this will break the mod, or not. Again, I did not test it. The Revered Defender Sword model is a single model, which means that it is a solid piece with the blade and hilt built as one unit. This is similar to the Inquisition Longsword that Cassandra uses. However, the Longsword of the Dragon, which you requested, is in two pieces, with a hilt and blade as separate parts. You might recall that you can add a hilt upgrade to the dragon sword. I don't think switching out the appearance of a one piece with a two piece will have an effect on that because the one piece just has a rune slot for an upgrade, whereas two piece swords have a rune and hilt slot. However, I do know that it would cause issues in the reverse -- imagine trying to equip a hilt to a single model that is not designed to have the hilt switched out. You'll just have to try and and see. Enjoy.
Jaig
Thank you so much! Wasn't expecting much, let alone so fast! Just tried the .daimod version, (Never been able to make Frosty work for DAI, Even though I use it regularly for ME:A), and it works perfectly! Models are replaced, with no apparent issues whatsoever. It's funny, I did actually take into account the custom hilts thing, and specifically chose the Longsword of the Dragon because I thought it was one piece. I actually had no idea until now that you could put custom hilts on it. I feel a bit silly now. But, it appears to work with no problem! However, this does not replace the models of the versions crafted from schematics, and... that was the main thing I was looking for. Totally my fault. I realized I completely failed to mention that in my request. If you could alter the mod to include the crafted versions as well, I would very much appreciate it. But I would understand if you don't have time or just would rather I figure it out on my own. You've already been a tremendous help, and I am grateful.
