Missing Cigaretts and Packs of Them?

Hi. Me again. I moved my Fallout: New Vegas game to a different computer. And if you're keeping track, that's the third time I've done this.

 

It started out great. I fiinished Dead Money with no problems and headed back to the Lucky 38 Presidential Suite to unload all my junk, and saved my game there. But whenever I left the suite to go somewhere, textures of certain metallic objects would show up as rainbow crystals, while Cigarettes and Packs of Cigarettes would show up as red diamonds with the exclamation point. I could live with that if that was all there was, but for some reason this comes with all my save files being corrupted. If I quit the game, I can load back to my save in the Lucky 38 Presidential Suite, and I can even make new saves in the suite, but any saves I make once I leave the suite are erased once everything is corrupted.

 

I figured I learned from the last two times. But so far, verifying my game cache and clicking "Default" under the graphics options doesn't fix it.

whats your load order? Have you installed any texture packs? How much video memory does your video card have?

maybe u need to detect your new hardware for FONV, have u try a fresh ini? for explanation.. if u using new hardware and using the old ini files there will maybe some settings wrong for the new pc, keep a backup and delete the ini files in savegame folder. then start the falloutnvlauncher to make new ini files. or maybe some mods u have installed need a ini edit to work.. (archiveinvalidation files on and so on)

 

have u check the loadorder?

 

or maybe some files are going defect in the copy (if u copy over wifi is that possible). i prefer u to a fresh install from fonv and copy only the mod or better install it new. or maybe there are missing additional stuff that is coming normally with the installer from fonv. (like ms visual c++ runtimes library or g4w or dx or net framework).

 

maybe a new graphic driver will fix this...

The graphics driver on my new laptop is built-in, so I can't change it.

 

I didn't copy over wifi. I copied via flash drive.

 

Fresh intall? You mean delete my entire game and re-install with the game disc?

 

I'll try a fresh .ini file, see if that helps.

of curse u can install new driver for ur build in card if they have a new version out. i didnt mean the hardware...

 

what a graphic card do u have?

Ah, there we go. Turns out I had too many mods running at once for this computer. 150 is the limit for this particular one. Weird, it seems the more high-end the computer I use, the less mods I can use at once.
