Rustle32
II was having a Crash to Desktop problem in the first part of the Ustengrav Nordic ruin. I'm posting it here, because I'm not sure where to post problems and workarounds like this. May be slightly spoilerish. Upon entering the second large room, or the first one after all the mages, I was crashing on what appeared to be an AI event. The CTD would happen as soon as the entombed Draugr just past the bridge tomb door hits the floor. I tried turning off various mods that I am running to no effect, the CTD always happened at the same point. So I turned on my mods then used the console command of TAI, Toggle AI, to turn off AI for some NPCs. This seemed to work, no CTD. I killed all the Draugr, including the one in the tomb, then turned back on the AI with the TAI console command. No Crashes. I had Lydia as my only follower. The Draugr in question ID was 0005204f I have a rather lengthy mod list so won't post it here, though at first I suspected ASIS, Automatic Variants, Skyrim Performance Mod and WATER. Though on research, it seems that Ustemgrav is one of the bugged areas and has never really been fixed. This is an FYI post, maybe someone better suited than me can track down this bug. GarglingGlass
I don't know anything about a specific event in that tomb that would cause CTD. But I have had events before that would cause a similar effect that TAI would cure, and it was due to a bloated save file. Some mods do this from time to time, some worse than others, and some seemingly randomly. So if it were me I would look through your save game files and see if at any point they drastically started changing file sizes. If that's the case then it's still due to a mod, disabling won't help you, and it's a broken save file. Don't mean to scare you, like I said I've never had that problem in that tomb, but it's a possibility.
MarianHawk
I faced once the same CTD problem, but after cleaning up mods by deleting those which dont interest me much, I havent experienced the issue any more. it seems to me that once the Skyrim engine hit the maximum 4G memory, the game will be CTDed. Sorry this doesnt help,,,, but I suggest you deleting mods which you dont use much (like armors/weapons) or arent interested in (like quests/etc). Or how about track the Papyrus Script by editing the related items in the Skyrim.ini ?the tracker records the logs and sometimes the reason for the error. kaizersoze27
U think it is one of the Vanilla scripts attached to Draugrs. I get CTDs. A consistent CTD for only one specific draugr in Dusman's Cairn. the papyrus gives me error related to "DraugrFXScript.psc".
Cyril749
The Tai console command worked for me. But any time I turn it on in the tomb, the ctd returns.
