The whole controller feel and ease alures me, but didnt they say that halo was "Only for Xbox" at first? Then they release it to PC? theres your microsoft stock shares at work...

The reason for that is that it was 'only for Xbox' as far as consoles were concerned, same as the original Splinter Cell was an 'Xbox exclusive' only for a limited time.

My new PC (a hellspawned beast) has made me a sure convert from console to PC. I have not used a Mac in ages and couldn't testify to their abilities. However, the Xbox has recently gone down in price by $50 which makes it an almost affordable $149....

There's something to be said for cheap entertainment. :whistling:

I think that PC's have more juice to run high end games but the problem for the cost of upgrading a video card to state-of-the-art you have to fork over enough cash for about 4 PS2's. But in the same respect, PC's are much easier to upgrade, and I prefer using a keyboard than console controller.

Why are there so many people that prefer the X-Box, I just don't understand. Of the 3rd generation platforms PS2 reigns supreme IMO.

Yet the console that possibly is the greatest of all time and would be hard pressed to surpass is the SNES. If you think I'm crazy you're wrong (can you say FFIII, Secret of Mana, Metroid or Zelda anyone?).

X-box over PS2, cause "teh m33k shall inh3rit teh 3arth". And xbox is certainly the meek. They come from having no console experiance and make a simply DYNAMITE console with what it runs with - - IE, harddrive, better online capabillities (Buddylists, chatlinks, etc), better games (To a degree)....Id give it better over the PS2, definitly...I even LIKE the godawful controllers...Whats with the PS2's devided D-pad? The switchoffableness of the analog stix? the whole "Triangle", "Circle", "Square", and "X" buttons? well, the x is in the same spot as x on the Xbox...still, Pc wins by a long shot...The xbox is like Pc "Lite", just like miller has a miller lite, ya know? I wonder if miller or miller lite sells more...

Snes...I like that idea, when Nintendo was king and ruled over the land with a holy Super Famicom...and it was a time of prosperity...and they turned the water into wine, yet it still tasted like fermented grape juice...with...Beavers...Snes was the greatest....By far...

This is not exactly what it seems to be… Take a any micro-ATX case, put in a Pentium-3 733, 64MB RAM, Geforce 2 Ultra graphics card (with TV Out, and using shared video memory), 6.4GB hard drive, DVD Drive, and so-so 16 bit sound, load up a customized version of Windows 2000 with Direct X 8.1, and you have an XBox. …. …. …. Wait a second, those have been around for years; a lot longer than the XBox! And they play more games… Who’d a thunk?

The controller is a debatable issue, and is entirely the preference of the user. But Sony gets points in my book for staying with an already well designed controller. People who were used to the PSOne controller did not have to adapt to a different style. Something is to be said about such legacy devices when a company, rightfully, leaves well enough alone. I personally think that symbols of different colors are just as intuitive as alphabet soup. Look at the N64 controller with 4(!) yellow "C" buttons!

Ah, back to the Master. Some of the best games were played in 256 colors and unshaded, un-textured polygons (Mode 7 was amazing for it's time, as was SA-1, and SuperFX). Super Mario RPG and Starfox had graphics that gave even the Playstation (in its younger years) a run for it's money.

I don't mean to disparage you or say what you think is wrong (everyone is entitled to their opinion) only that some of the reasoning and facts you are using are flawed, or too debatable to stand against thorough and informed reasoning. The next XBox may have a bit more hope. It is being designed from the ground up as a game console, and not a striped down PC. B)

I meant title-wise Xbox can't really compare the vast library of hot titles the PS2 enjoys.

And you're right...I'm not a console nut since I think the computer is a better platform to play games, especially interactive online games. Though I still play my SNES when I have the time...(sifts through box and pulls out Mario All-Stars, which was free in the first place).
