Replaced Texture and Mesh not loading

So, I replaced my light hide armor texture with a new one I made and saved in the correct folder as a loose file and I can't get it to show up in game (only shows the default light hide armor.) The texture shows up on the model in NifScope just fine. I tried renaming the texture and linking the mesh to the alternate name as well with no luck. I also tried archiving the BSAs from the skyrim.ini (a suggestion I read in a similar thread,) also with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I replaced my snow sabrecat just fine using loose files last night, so it is an armor exclusive problem it seems.

Are you trying to replace the texture entirely or add a new variant of it? If your trying to just replace it i would just go into photoshop and edit the original. If you want another version of it and to still keep the originals, I would try opening the ck and copying an existing armor. Go to where you change the world models or any of the model browsers. Select an armor that shows up in the browser and game for sure. Open it up in NifSkope. Delete its trishape add yours, change its textures. Now load that nif into the ck. hopefuly it should show up.

You probably have to make a new armor addon as well and select those nifs. You also might have to create a new texture set in the ck and select your textures. Then link your Texture set to your armor addon, and link that to your armor. I havent tried this process with actual armor just a sword so im not sure if it will work. Also im not claiming to be an expert just telling you what worked for me. Just remember with armor your supposed to have 2 nifs, 0 and 1, zero is for small characters 1 is for larger ones. If none of this works would watch or read some more tutorials and keep trying what i read. I hope this helped you. It seems hard to get questions answered around here. It makes me appreciate how good the udk community and documentation were.
