Message to whiterun -> battle of whiterun bug

Is there a fix for this bug yet? im patched to 1.8

I was having the exact same problem.

I have fixed it :smile:

What mods I believe were causing it to break were 'Bring out your dead', 'Unbound' and/or 'Project Legacy.'

I completely deleted those mods, uninstalled, deleted all left over Skyrim data, re-installed, and started a new game.

BTW, you may or may not have these mods, but sometimes a fresh install helps :)

when i went into creation kit, the cw03 quest said that ulfric only tells you to go to the camp if the battle for whiterun quest has already started, unfortunatly the quest starts at stage 240 i believe. still though even when i fixed that and ulfric told me to go to whiterun for the attack, the next quest didnt start /:

Seems like there's a plethora of problems with this quest one of which cause this bug, but what worked for me was console command (without quotes): "player.setcrimegold 0 000267EA".
In hindsight, it's pretty obvious when you think about it. "Hey.. I know you." = "You're a criminal."

after you deliver the axe to ulfric, open the console command, and do a "resetAI" command on him before he starts the dialogue with the bear guy. worked for me.
