Preferred combat strategies

I never played a magic character or an assassin character (I lack the patience), and most of my characters are usually melee fighters with heavy armor (or hybrids, such as my Death Knight character [who has conjuration/destruction] and my Paladin [who has restoration]). Before I got Duke Patrick's combat moves I used a rather simple strategy: strike twice and block, strike twice and block, power attack and immediately block, etc... But with the awesomeness active, I shield bash my opponents, hack and slash, and shield bash again. Then I block and wait for my chance to repeat the process. IF ONLY I COULD CUT MY ENEMIES INTO PIECES (which I can't for some reason, I have OBSE v12 and the mod supposedly works with it).

I like to snipe. I play a game to see how far away I can get from a mob and still one shot it. And when I'm bored I play around with ridiculous spells that have excessively high damage and a blast radius the size of Texas. Well, maybe not quite that big, but you get the picture.

 

I used to be the hack n' slash type, but that gets boring. However, I've never tried Duke Patrick's combat enhancements. Perhaps I should.

i always play stealth characters.

 

i quickly get the sneak and marksman skills up, training marksman at every new level.

selling everything to get money for training.

and sneaking around behind city guards to raise sneak skill.

 

everything to get the 50 marksman.

then just zoom in and shoot enemies at such a long distance that you can barley see the enemy.

aiming a couple of centimeters above theyre head so the arrow hits when it drops in the air.

 

if you have enough distance between youreself and the enemy you can get enough sneak hits in to kill any target, before it even realize where the arrows are coming from.

 

zoom, shoot, zoom, shoot. back up abit if the enemy advances in your direction and zoom shoot again.

as long as you get the sneak attack bonus you will put down the toughest enemy with just a couple of arrows.

 

this is the most fun way to play for me, i dont bother with magic at all.

exept alteration for feather spells, and mysticism for life detection.

 

joining mage guild only to get access to item enchant so i can enchant my bow with soul trap. :thumbsup:

 

i dont even care about wearing armor, taking out an entire dungeon wearing nothing but sack clothes is very satisfying. :biggrin:

 

at higher levels i make sure to have a high luck attribute for knock down chance.
