Who was the traitor?

One of the most Linear quests in oblivion, is this one. pretty obvious that you could be given a mission to find the traitor and kill him with proof, but due to the way this quest is started you can't choose between killing and leaving alive, but in your opinion who was the traitor  ?

in my opinion:

the Khajitt in the sanctuary, believe me I think he was the Traitor. yes if we look at it this way: after you kill "Philida" he doesn't seem to change anyway if that's the case, saying "You've done so many Things for...". he Actually says that after everybody Knows that "Lucian" gave secret order to meet him in fort "faragut" for an Important matter, so concerning this, the traitor realizes his cover is blown so he changes his stance with the player, from an insulting enemy to a Friend. seems suspicious to me...

But it is a bad part, thus killing your Fellow mates for a Khajitt Traitor, and male without a father  seems unfair and linear in my opinion.

Post about who you think was the traitor here,

cheers,

IHOE

Umm, no.

The impression I got was that he was stationed in the sanctuary before he got promoted to the black hand. When the others found about the traitor, they were only able to trace him to the sanctuary, and decided to wipe it out just to be sure. Now it is possible that one or more of the others was helping him, who knows?

I agree. As i understand read his diary is that he was the taritor anduse the sanctuary as main base until got promotion to the Black Hand. And even after the promotion his make some visit to th sanctuary just before the Char becomes member os the Darck brotherhood.

About M'raaj-Dar n the beginig wen i play from first time i think he was the traitor too, but after i figure out he's to obvious...

For me Beths when creati this character make him to e hateful justly for the players thinks he's the traitor, somethis similar with Snape in the first Book of Harry Potter . (" c'mon Harry Snape will stole the Philosophal Stone!)

After think a little i came to conclusion that M'raaj-Dar is only a poor khajitt who had bad skooma and don't have the "right" to runaway...

This destroy anyone humor...

Yeah, you're right when I think at the point. pretty sure no one knows that who was the traitor exactly because Balemont might have had an agent because he was unable to visit the sanctuary anymore after the promotion

I don't think there was a traitor in the Sanctuary at all.

Since Bellamont was one of the BlackHand, it would have been easy enough for him to personally be the traitor and leave clues pointing to the Sanctuary and even hint at it from his position as "a loyal Blackhand" member.

And since he want's to see the Brotherhood destroyed anyway, why not get them to kill themselves?

My initial feeling when I got the orders to wipe out the sanctuary was that it was all a big setup...storyline doesn't allow for...multiple choices :(

Agreed. I also don't see anyone collaborating with Bellamont. I sense that Bellamont planted evidence in key places on the Black Hand to make it appear as though the Cheydinhal Sanctuary was in on the plot.

It could very well be that Bellamont saw the sanctuary as a threat to his plan so he wanted to eliminate it. Or he considered Lucian Lachance to be the only person that could thwart his plan of revenge so he had to get rid of Lachance.
