GregP
Yup, just confirmed it myself! All thanks go to DarkenDE over at the Bethesda Creation Kit forums, this was entirely his discovery.
FireAndBlood
Trying this right now! Hope it works! :DD EDIT: IT WORKED! I can't believe it. Crazy how one little bit in the code makes all the difference. :D So, the steps are: 1) Get a hex editor. I recommend XVI32. 2) Open up your "problem" Skyrim save in the hex editor. 3) Search for text string "dlc1playervampirechangescript". 4) Change the "1" in that text to a "2". 5) Save the file. 6) Enjoy Dawnguard in first person. :) Thanks so much, GregP, for following up on this and digging for an answer. And thanks to DarkenDE for the fix. THANKYOU MAN it is amazing how that little change fixed it :D im so happy right now, my 20 bucks wasn't a waste! Thankyou! RasAlgethi24
Will this also fix the dawnguard save bloat problem? I've had issues with Dawnguard causing save bloat and forced 3rd person perspective. My question is if it is due to SoS I had been running previously. I ran all 3 SoS modules, newest version, for a week or so, didn't run into any save bloat problems (my saves are about 8mb), but uninstalled immediately hearing the save bloat issues. My game has been fine since that. However, I recently downloaded dawnguard and when running it I run into said issues. Now, my newer character running all mods I have currently but never had SoS, runs Dawnguard just fine.
Keldis
Since my fix seems to work for people i made this for the rest that can't or won't handle a hex editor :-) 3rd Person Fix Edited August 18, 2012 by Keldis
RasAlgethi24
^Thank you for that. I will try that. Any fix for save bloat caused by Dawnguard (which I think is some how connected with previously installed SoS)

ElisDTrailz
Thanks for the fix! I have Skyrim for the XBox360 and got Dawnguard almost immediately after it was released for that system. I ran into this problem as well and was also told to revert to an earlier save or start over. All of my earlier saves also ran into this problem and with nearly 300 hours into the game, there was absolutely no way I was going to restart. So I just stopped playing, hoping that when the PC version came out, someone would figure out the cause (because of access to the console, etc). When I saw this, I extracted my save from the xbox container file, used the fix, rehashed and resigned and it works like a charm - thanks!
