Game always freezes in Collapsed Overpass Tunnel (Lonesome Road)

Thanks dubiousintent,

- I changed the Ogg Vorbis libraries : no luck (but maybe I will have less freezes/CTD in the long term, outside LR)

- I tried CleanMem : same freezes, could be at the very beggining of the play session

 

So I looked again in the scripts :

- the 1st Tunneler : kills the Deathclaw, runs, hide, emerges again : I never had a problem with it

but I noticed that in the script it uses a different playIdle : EmergeREVEAL, while others use playIdle Emerge

I changed the 1st tunneler script so it uses playidle Emerge : I had a FPS drop and then a CTD when it emerged.

 

So i changed all the playIdle Emerge to playIdle EmergeREVEAL (not only in the main script, but also in the other Tunnelers scripts):

- I get to the end of the tunnel twice

maybe a slight drop of FPS in the middle of the tunnel, before encountering the second "3-tunnelers wave".

 

I will make some more tests and publish also this version if it really works.

 

I will also try not to change the ghost 0-1 (vulnerable/invulnerable)

 

Not quite confident - I already had a false 'positive' yesterday - but some hope.

:dance: Good news, I played through the Tunnel 3 times with a new version of the mod, without any FPS drop nor freezes. :dance:

 

The only thing I changed : every occurence of "PlayIdle Emerge" was changed into "PlayIdle EmergeReveal".

As far as I know, the Tunnelers correctly appear, fight, disappear...

 

The 6 scripts modified :

That is good news! Not only did you improve your "fix", but you isolated the (or at least "a") source of the problem. Now we will just have to see how effective it is for others. I see you already have 6 downloads and 1 endorsement (great ratio), so the problem is more common than it appears from people asking here.

 

And the side benefit is that now people have something to compare for why one "idle" is worse than others.

Without it I doubt I will have made the 2nd version of the "fix".

 

Edit:

Updated to version 1.1 : the bug occured to me again, but in the Abadon Cave. Found a new occurence of the PlayIdle Emerge in an other script NVDLC04VenomousTunnelerAmbusherSCRIPT . Passed the Abadon Cave without problem (except 2 deaths by the tunnelers...) with this version.

 

Could have plagued also the Collapsed Tunnel.
