enigma28
Hi all I did a quick search and couldn't find anything about this so thought I would make a post. Setting the Scene:I use quite a few mods (run about 80), however the vast majority of those are simple armor/weapon mods or relatively basic texture replacers. Now lately I've had quite a few CTD issues (I think I've got those located back to some mods that have troublesome scripts with newer versions of Skyrim), and so I got to thinking about possible ways to help limit CTDs when most of my modifications are texture replacers. Now I doubt it's my computer not being powerful enough to cause my CTDs, it should be more than capable with my CPU @ 4.6 GHz, 670GTX 4GB in SLI, and 12GB of RAM (just wanted to preempt that one :) ) The Question:Is it possible, and would it be beneficial at all, to get a clean install of Skyrim and unpack some of the official BSA files (I was thinking HighResTexturePack01-2, Skyrim - Meshes, Skyrim - Textures, Skyrim - Misc, and possibly Dawnguard) and then leave them unpacked as loose files, and simply install my usual texture replacers over the top overwriting as necessary? Any help with this would be most appreciated.
