Restoring vanilla skins for items changed in a mod

Now, i asked this in the Ad Victoriam mod thread, but it seems the author has a kid now so god knows when he'll be active again :smile:

Anyway, one of the things the mod changed was the way the BoS outfits look, namely from the washed out colours these megasaturated clean, new looking colors. I'd like to change just the way armor looks from these new colors to the original vanilla-looking outfits. Is there any simple way of doing this or would I have to get some sort of editing program and then change them by hand one by one, playing with color palettes and stuff?

Or is there any way of digging into the original game files and copying them over the newly colored items from the mod?

 

I hope I put this question forth clearly, I don't have a lot of experience with modding so I might have used some wrong terminology. In short, I'd like to restore the vanilla outfit colors that this mod changed, How do I go about it?
