Problems with NifSkope

Sorry, this has probably been answered somewhere, but I couldn't find anything. I'm trying to do a custom race, and when I open up the head in NifSkope it looks fine with all my maps, but when I save a new .nif and try to load it into the GECK, the preview face stops blinking, the lower eyelids disappear, and all the morph sliders stop working. I thought I'd done something wrong with my normal map, but if all I do is open the original headhuman.nif and resave it, the same thing happens.

 

Er...mind telling me what I'm doing wrong?

If there's any other info I need to add I'll try...but I'd really to figure out where the problem is. XD;
