Deleted860269User
hello, I just joined nexus today to download mods for Oblivion. This is my first time downloading a mod and I was wondering how exactly I do it. So far I have saved the file to my computer. when I double-click on it, it asks what I want to open it with, what program do you recommend/need to open it with? Thanks in advance
XanAlderon
copy the folders together. Go to my computer then local disk then program files then Oblivion then data files.Paste everything there it should ask you whether you want to overwrite stuff or something say yes. Then open up oblivion go to data files tick the mod you put on. Then play the game!

lastace
 I am a noob to TesNexus as well, welcome to what i consider to be the best Oblivion resource Link. Thinking back to when i first had a go at oblivion and to the gamestyle now with the mods i have, It's makes the game so much more fun and interesting. Some things that need to be paid attention to: +Read the descriptions first before downloading.+OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager) is absolutely necessary.+OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager) is absolutely necessary. Yeah, repeated but why. OBMM will handle all your mods for you; notifies you of conflicts, helps resolve them, and generally lets you disable/deactivate the mods that you don't want with a clean delete capability as well. BTW Have fun perusing Tes, Coz i usually spend ages looking through what is available... Legendary Site. :D

Do you know of any programs that i could use that is compatible with vista?
bben46
7-zip works with Vista also. Besides working well and being popular here, 7-zip is free. There are several other unzipping programs that are popular. Winrar, a for pay program that has a free trialzipgeniuswinzip. This one likes to put sub folders in the wrong places but if you know how to move them works OK Most other zip programs that can open 7z, rar, zip files will work.
