Aerionyx
Hi everyone, this is my first post here so apologies if this is the incorrect board (I noticed another technical support board concerning 'individual' mods, but I'm unsure exactly what's causing my crashes)To start from the beginning, I stumbled across a video on Youtube that provided a nice overview of several mods of different varieties to overhaul the experience of NV, ranging from graphics mods, to new additions such as weapons and armour as one might expect from any large 'overrhaul'. The video can be found at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35FS4rvRvN4 It has 1m+ views so it has clearly garnered some popularity, and many (but not all) of the mods I downloaded were linked in the description. After starting a new game, I experienced some minor problems attributed to NV buggy nature, such as corrupted saves, endless loading etc, all which I managed to troubleshoot, however after playing for a while the game seems to crash very inconsistently. Sometimes it would crash during a cell change/fast travel, sometimes when I open the main menu, sometimes when I open my pip-boy, and sometimes it would just abruptly crash when I am not doing anything particularly interesting in-game (just walking around, for example). Additionally, I had encountered some troublesome noteworthy issues on at least two occasions. The first was in Goodsprings saloon; basically the first/second time I entered was fine, but when I completed the tutorial quest and entered again it took an abnormally long time to load, when I was finally in I encountered a buggy mess with floors and surfaces being invisible, and I could even walk forwards and fall 'under' the level. A similar thing also happened in the Nipton building on the third floor. Curiously, these issues only ever happened once (for each location) and I was able to move through those areas fine on reload. One final note is that these crashes are typically not crashes straight to desktop, my game simply locks up and I am forced to kill the game through the task manager. Sometimes it locks the whole monitor and I have to bring up the task manager on my second monitor, seems odd. Additionally, sorting my load order via LOOT indicated there were no specific errors of any kind. This is my load order, I used LOOT to organise it, and (almost) all mods were installed through Nexus Mod Manager; 0 0 FalloutNV.esm 1 1 DeadMoney.esm 2 2 HonestHearts.esm 3 3 OldWorldBlues.esm 4 4 LonesomeRoad.esm 5 5 GunRunnersArsenal.esm 6 6 ClassicPack.esm 7 7 MercenaryPack.esm 8 8 TribalPack.esm 9 9 CaravanPack.esm 10 a More Traits.esm 11 b Project Nevada - Core.esm 12 c More Perks.esm 13 d oHUD.esm 14 e FCOMaster.esm 15 f Project Nevada - Equipment.esm 16 10 Project Nevada - Rebalance.esp 17 11 Project Nevada - Cyberware.esp 18 12 Weapons.of.the.New.Millenia.esm 19 13 SomeguySeries.esm 20 14 Weapons.of.the.New.Millenia.Leveled.Lists.esp 21 15 WMIMNV.esp 22 16 Weapon Retexture Project.esp 23 17 Asurah_reanimation.esp 24 18 More Perks Update.esp 25 19 More Traits Update.esp 26 1a B42Inertia.esp 27 1b Roberts_NewVegas.esp 28 1c Vurt's WFO.esp 29 1d FCO - NPC Changes.esp 30 1e TLD_Travelers.esp 31 1f Mojave Raiders.esp 32 20 Mojave Wildlife (FO3-Style).esp 33 21 FNV Realistic Wasteland Lighting - All DLC.esp 34 22 WEATHER RUDY ENB.esp 35 23 NukaCola-Ojo.esp 36 24 TGsArmorCollectionVegas.esp 37 25 TGsArmorCollectionLeveledList.esp 38 26 1nivVSLArmors.esp 39 27 FO4-FNVPorts.esp 40 28 FO4PowerArmorReplacersWithDLC.esp 41 29 FO4PowerArmorReplacersNoDLC.esp 42 2a pyDoF.esp 43 2b Diagonal movement.esp 44 2c FCO - Roberts Patch.esp 45 2d FCO - OHSB NPC Edits.esp FCO - Russell.esp ----------- #DISABLED 46 2e dD - Enhanced Blood Main NV.esp 47 2f The Mod Configuration Menu.esp 48 30 JIP MiniMap.esp 49 31 JustHitmarker.esp 50 32 CASM.esp Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you for taking the time to read this. dubiousintent
Most video "modding guides" are good at suggesting mods and even "how to install" them individually, but lack the boring and time-consuming information necessary to understand "why" things need to be certain ways and are needed. That tends to be the realm of "computer geeks" and "documentation", and most people just want to "install and play". Unfortunately, things are not that simple and you have to invest some time and effort in reading about "the boring stuff". Please see the 'Common Game Problems' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. If the problem persists, then see either the 'Solutions to Starting the game problems' or the 'Solutions to "Crash To Desktop" (CTD) problems' sections in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide.I recommend anyone read the entire "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article to understand the differences between this game and others you may have experience with; especially if this is your first attempt to play a modded FNV or it's been more than a year since you last did so. All of your problem symptoms are addressed between those two wiki articles, but you need the foundation of "General Advice" to go along with the specific problems and solution in the "Troubleshooting" guide. I would suggest you uninstall (or at least disable) ENB until you get a "stable" FNV that does what you need first. Then you can let ENB perform it's "post-processing" without having it confusing the picture (literally and figuratively). -Dubious-
