rcavanah
Hey guys, So I've been playing Dawnguard with Dragonbone arrows and the Zephyr for the highest DPS possible with archery. I'm noticing a huge amount of arc on these arrows. I first noticed it while using a crossbow and figured that was specifically a crossbow thing, but it's not. I'll aim at a faraway bandit's head, and where it used to hit right on the head, it now hits the floor below them. I tried Daedric arrows and the same seems to happen. Haven't tried anything lighter yet. For the record, I have fixed the long-range hit detection for projectiles in the ini file, and I am definitely holding the nocked arrow long enough to get maximum velocity (loosing it too early is an easy mistake with a fast-firing bow, but I usually use a Nord Hero bow, so I'm relatively used to the speed and kicked that habit a while ago). So, can you code guys see if the weight of the bow/arrow or the rate of fire are calculated into the arc? Has the arc actually changed, or am I insane? AM I INSANE? EDIT: Did a little test at the highwayman boulder trap in Falkreath Hold. Picked up the Imperial bow sitting there, along with the steel arrows. Stood to the right of the table, as close to the brazier as possible, and fired at the large tree stump down the road. The arrow type did not matter, but the Zephyr fired about a waist's height lower than the Imperial bow. This is magnified by about 3 times when shooting the other way, aiming upward at the boulder trap tower from the stump. Does this mean heavier bows can fire farther?
