35NEXT99
What programs do I need to open/edit these .esp files. I have Fallout 3 full game with DLC addons installed and G.E.C.K. What other programs do I need. Please give some tutorial links also. I want to try program those PipBoy 3000 plugins. This forum looks bit dead to me. 2 days and no answers. Just my opinion here. Ladez
You can open and edit .esp files with the GECK. You should have a look at the tutorials at the GECK Wiki, it covers most of the basics. It also contains lots of useful pages besides the official tutorials. :) This forum can seem a bit dead at times, I think there is more activity on the New Vegas section though. Ladez
Where do you run into problems when trying to open them? Have you read the starting tutorial on the GECK wiki? From the main toolbar in the GECK, open File -> Data. Here you will see a list of all the master files and plugins in your data folder. To start working on a new plugin, check the master files you want to work with. To load an existing select it in the list and click on "Set as Active File". Note that loading the master file(s) may take several minutes as there is a lot of data to be loaded. This may make the GECK seem like it crashed, but it hasn't, just let it work. DonkeyChainsaw
A bit late, here. Where are the .esp files actually loacated? I've added a few new hairstyles for the first time and I'm just wondering how to save them. It says to save the new hairstyles into my active esp folder. Where is it, exactly?
