Lokie7
Hi all, I searched the forum for answers, to no avail, ( also..a LOT of topics). I cannot "activate" the bed in either Red Lucy or Joana "lay down with me" scenarios. Is this an inherent bug? How do I fix /by pass this? I tried.."activate" the bed, in console, only to get a "how long do you want to sleep" menu, and it doesn't fix the issue/bug. Any help or advise is appreciated. dubiousintent
At a minimum you need to specify which mod or quest you referring to. It's a little much to expect anyone who might be able to help to recognize a "scene" unique to any mod or even in a DLC. Even someone who has played through the entire main plot may not have experienced all possible scenarios. Speaking in very general terms, if a standard game interface action doesn't work in a specific situation but does everywhere else, it's an indication that you have failed to meet all the "conditions" the author placed on the scenario or are attempting the incorrect "action". Your best bet is to check 1) the documentation provided with the mod, and 2) the comments tab on the mod download page. If it's part of the "published game" (base or DLC), check out the wiki sites devoted to the game such as "The Vault" or "Nukapedia". Most (only because I haven't completed everything; I believe it should be "All") "sex" scenes in the vanilla game consist of completing a certain set of dialog checks which trigger a "fade to black" implied act. I've not seen anything to indicate it was necessary to "activate a bed" in vanilla, but certainly it is possible. However, if your dialog result triggered a "fade to black", that was it. (Note some mods (such a "Sexout") might trigger other responses, but I haven't experienced them.) As both "Red Lucy" and "Joana" are vanilla NPCs, it would be up to some add-on mod to provide any alternative result. -Dubious-

I was referring to the vanilla characters and "quests". Yes, I have completed all required tasks/quests and have passed all speech checks and met all the linear conditions, as stated in walk-throughs of each characters quest. Yea, I checked those to make sure I didn't miss anything. I'm referring to when I get to the point that each of the mentioned characters, Red Lucy and Joana have invited me into their room and offered to "lay down with me", wherein they wear the skimpy/sexy lingerie and lie down on the respective bed...then, I'm just supposed to "activate" (click on) the bed and the scene should, by all accounts, fade to black. The specific problem is, when I click on the bed...nothing happens, just the "clicking sound", but no activation. If I then click on either woman/character..they both respond with "lay down with me", just as before, thus the "sequence" seems to stall, hang or loop, without any conclusion. So I'm wondering if this is a bug that never got fixed. I'm not running any mods that change either of the characters, except for NVR3 (New Vegas Redesigned" and there is no mention in comments of such problems because NVR3 doesn't alter scrips, it is just textures enhancements. to the best of my knowledge. I've checked a few FNV wiki sites, mostly like Fandom and the general wiki, as well as Forums on the Nexus with no luck. I'll check the sites you mentioned and thank you for your reply, input and suggestions..links.
dubiousintent
Are you using a "post processor" such as ENB or SweetFx? They are known to sometimes cause problems with IMODs (the "fade to black" mechanism). Please see 'Issue - Image Modifications aka IMODS aka fade to black etc do not work' entry under the 'Solutions to Post-Processor ENB or SweetFX et al problems' section of the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" article. The only other thing I can think of (besides a mod conflict) would be some XML file alteration. However, in that case I would expect it to show up in other, similar situations that use the same "activate" action. Please see the wiki "HUD-UI-Menu issues" article if you think that might be the case. -Dubious-
