Sydite
In vanilla Oblivion, I didn't really like: the whole leveling system and scaling, the landscape (the world in general felt kinda meh),the combat (ALL parts of the triangle),weapons and armor (felt there wasn't enough diversity),not enough enemy variety, andloot in general (just seemed bland). Looking for stuff to change those.I'll also take any other mods you think are a must have. I just wanna give this one more shot, because I know there is huge potential in Oblivion modding, especially like seven years after release. Also, looking for stuff that fits (almost) seamlessly into the game and is lore/immersion-friendly. *by the way, DLCs I have are Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine* Thanks a bunch for any help! mizdarby
With some many mods to choose from, hard to pick a perfect one for each individual. However here are some suggestionsLevelling..Galerion Natural Levelling, where you gain skill increases during gameplay without having to micro-manage skill increases, so as you use skills you automatically increase the appropiate attributes. AF Level Mod, where you can define how much each skill affects each attribute, and you can define racial starting bonuses. There is also another mod whose name alludes me, where every time you level up you get +5 max's on whatever attribute you choose, provided you have used skills that would level that attribute, eg do one increase on say blunt weapons, and when you level up, would allow you to +5 strength. Landscapes..Unique Landscapes, a modular set of mods, which character and diversity to different parts of Cyrodiil, I particularly liked the City island Unique Landscapes. A useful mod to use with Unique Landscapes is Natural Environments, both for the weather and the extra foliage it adds to trees. The RD fixed version of Natural Weather fixes some bugs in the original Natural Weather. Weapons and Armor...Absolutely bucket loads of custom weapons and armor, many will require a body replacer, HGEC seems to be the body replacer with the most custom armors. I like Blackluster Armor Mod, which adds several heavy armor sets, a light armor set and some freebies, and it looks really good. I use HGEC, for the diversity of extra armor/clothing, though prefer the look of the long forgotten BAB body replacer. Enemy Variety..There are a couple of big mods that add extra enemies, never used them myself, but Martigens Monster Mod and Francesco's levelled creatures leap to mind. And for a total change in gameplay, and levelling systems, there is the Nehrim Mod, which is a whole different gameplaying experience. Anyhow, I am sure the veterans of this forum could help you far more, but good luck with your Oblivion.
Rennn
the whole leveling system and scaling,Oblivion Unleveled the landscape (the world in general felt kinda meh),Unique Landscapes Compilation the combat (ALL parts of the triangle),Unnecessary Violence II or Deadly Reflex As for other mods... Alternative Beginnings. (many new options when starting the game)http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/37382 CM Partners. (adds a full companion system)http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/7819 Faster Magic. (makes damage spells like Flare travel 2x as fast in the air)http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/41103 I'm planning a mod right now that'll change the lore to a medieval folklore setting instead of a TES setting. It affects mostly lore sources like dialogue and books. If I finish it I'll pm you a link, if you're interested.
