Can't Turn Off Weather Effects

It's almost six in the morning and I haven't been able to fall asleep, so I'll apologize ahead for any brain dead-ness.

So the problem is I've been having weather effects about 90% of my playtime. It's causing my frame rate to plummet and I can't see squat. If it was happening 10% of the time that would be fine or I was just getting rain, but no. I rarely get rain. It's sandstorms and radstorms one after the other.

So I turned off my weather mods like Nevada Skies.

And I'm still getting weather effects.

Rain was the only effect in the base game, right? From the Honest Hearts DLC? So, I'm trying to figure out where they're coming from. Currently my mods are:

New California

Perk Every level

Unlimited Companions 101 + Max Followers

Populated Casinos

Interior Lighting Overhaul

The Strip Open

The Commando +The Professional Animation packs

Wasteland Flora Overhaul mods

New Bison Steve

PS3 Controller Interface (I've always sucked at playing games on the keyboard)

NMC's Textures NV Large Packs

Robco Certified

The Couriers Cache Main

NCR Trooper Overhaul

Fallout Character Overhaul

4GB Fallout New Vegas Updated

Enhanced Camera

Fallout Character Overhaul Pink Faces Fix

Solid Project

And for added fun I still get pink faces. Poor Cass is a victim. And Red Exclamation Points of Doom on some small items I think.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Don't just "disable" a mod; uninstall it. Check the mod documentation on how it should be uninstalled, as some require specific steps to reverse their alterations to the game. Also, please see the 'Clean Saves' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.

Regarding your "ink face" and red exclamation points, please see the 'Solutions to Mesh (Red "!" icon) or Texture (solid color) problems' section and the 'Issue: Body Replacer - Custom Body Types' and related 'Body Replacer -' entries under the 'Solutions to Graphics problems' section

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks. I uninstalled and then deleted Nevada Weather, but I'm still getting weather effects so I think I messed up somewhere. I didn't remember anything special for uninstalling it, but I'll double check. Still wondering if another mod is giving me the effects and I was getting both going at the same time.

But thanks again for the help and links.

I don't use "weather mods" myself, so I don't know but suspect the weather is now "baked into" your save games. At the least you need to see the 'Clean Saves' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. If that is not sufficient, you will need to search out comments/threads on that specific mod to see if anyone else has solved the problem. Otherwise you may need to either revert to a save prior to installing that mod, or start over.

You might be able to change the current weather through the use of the console "fw <weatherID>" command.
