Adding a mechanic that kills NPCs in the world is just totally counter productive to the point of Fromsoftware RPGs which is to keep trying until you over come the challenge.. if Iâm supposed to keep fighting a hard boss until I over come the challenge then why punish me for just that? Itâs just stupid. I understand the narrative standpoint of it, but letâs be real, Fromsoftware just added it to add a little extra layer of punishment on whatâs possibly their most punishing and difficult game theyâve ever made. A mod to remove this mechanic would be great. If it canât be removed maybe make it so we have infinite dragon tears. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm practically at the end of the game now ( against the true corrupted monk atm ) and the only thing Dragonrot ever did was to halt a npc's questline until I healed it by purchasing / finding a tear.So far I find it to be annoying and unnecessary , sure....but it's nowhere near being a dangerous mechanic.
