Daedrakin
So, until about a year and a half ago (maybe even more) I have stopped playing Skyrim. Vortex has f*ed up my mods to the point that 1/6 mods weren't active in-game, others claimed they didn't exist and most refused to download altogether, safe to say, I was pretty upset. It was late at night, I was exhausted and very tired and I wanted to play some Skyrim to unwind. Slay some bandits, get some loot, run a few quests while getting side tracked with side quests, you know how it goes. But before I wanted to run the game, I hoped into Nexus Mods for Skyrim and see if there were any new mods to try out, there were but as I've stated I was very tired and, with the arrival of Vortex, I didn't want to go through all the trouble of manual downloads so, I wanted to try this Vortex out and....well you already read what happened. In a fit of exhausted and highly irritated rage I opted to delete all of Skyrim, "If I can't play it with mods I won't play it at all" kind of mindset...I was tired and exhausted and wanted to unwind...don't judge my rash stupidity, I've had my punishment.I tried to find the files for Skyrim again, which was a success, I managed to load up the game again and started a new playthrough to see if any of the mods would load, they did not but I was happy that at least vanila Skyrim was up and available to play. I viewed the saves from my SKSE to see if I could maybe play them or to at least see what I had to do (this was still in the vanila Skyrim main menu), they said I need to update my Skyrim. I figured I needed SKSE so, I tried to make it work again. Sadly SKSE refused to load claiming that it couldn't find TESV. I copied a few files where my SKSE data was and, although it found TESV (evident by the following part) it gave the message that I have to update my Skyrim, which was very confusing for me. I jumped into NMM to see if it will load, only to have the message that it couldn't access Skyrim cause it was in Program Files and that it needed to be moved. I tried to move the Skyrim files to where my NMM files where but I was stopped due to lack of administrator powers. So, I decided to move my NMM files to where my Skyrim files were which proved effortless cause I got the message that I needed to verify the download of my game since Skyrim.esm was missing. I tried to shuffle through my data which made things worse...not only did it fail to load SKSE and NMM but it also f*ed up my Skyrim main menu to the point where none of the saves no longer existed (which they previously would) and it was no longer in full screen. I dare not do anything anymore so I came here to see if anyone knows who I can fix this.I do apologize for the long read but there was no way to fit this in 5 simple sentences. I could really use some help...does anyone have any advice?
WsElite
after reading your problem, are you already updating your skyrim ? if the problem still persist, re install it. and if you are looking for heavily modded skyrim. mo2 is the best option for that, because mo2 use the virtualized process, so the MOD isn't placed on skyrim root folder, but on the mo2 folder so it won't DO anything to your root folder which is more safe for modding as the scripting and many other doesn't placed in root folder. and move the skse to root folder not the skyrim folder. its usually onC: Program files x 86 --------- steam --------- steamapps -------- common ------- skyrim, place it in there. hope this will help.
